This is the first ever entirely unraveled papyrus scroll from the great Herculaneum library. In its entirety. The technology that allowed us to do this will make it easier to unravel every single one of the thousands of scrolls still waiting to be read within the library.
Herculaneum was buried in ash thousands of years ago, along with Pompeii. The above text is Philodemus’ On Gods, written around the 1st century BC. Other Hellenistic works are expected to follow it. Upwards of twenty-five-thousand scrolls are thought to still be down there. Tantalizing us.
Philodemus is thought to be the owner of the villa and a philosophy enthusiast, hence the abundance of such texts already discovered and partially decrypted before now. In my mind, this is the most important historical innovation of the millennium. This will revolutionize our understandings of Greece and Rome. It’s already helped us discover the precise location of Plato’s tomb.
I, for one, am hopeful about the preservation of the works of ancient female writers. Many women wrote manuals of proper behavior, or their own philosophical interpretations of the world. That’s what’s most exciting to me. Also learning the names of poetesses and philosophresses we’ve never heard of before. AHH this is so exciting

Please help me go into remission from Type II diabetes
Hello everyone, I am so sorry to remake this post, but I am very scared. I am experiencing embarassing and vulnerable symptoms- my type II diabetes is becoming progressive, and I am desperate to go into remission. It has affected my liver and my heart, and neuropathy has made me partially incontinent. On April I was hospitalized twice. I have no thyroid, and without medication, it will put me into a myxedema coma and will kill me within days. Hypothyroidism and type II diabetes is making it very difficult for me to find work, as I am from the global south (the Philippines), with government aid only covering 20,000 pesos (around 326 usd) a year. I am the only person in my family who can work; my mother is paralyzed from a brain injury, and my sister is autistic with a very low frustration threshold. I need help covering for my new medication, as I now take metformin twice a day, and phosphates to help with my liver and kidneys, and b complex to help bolster my immune system. Im sorry I keep remaking this post, I am alone and desperate. Community is all I have. Thank you so much for your endless grace and compassion.

Click the link in this post, it will lead you to the itch.io page for the game, choose either mac or windows/linux and click download. You will get a zip file, rightclick and choose 'extract all', you will then have an unzipped folder in which you can find the exe file. It should have a little apollo icon aswell but im not sure if that worked on mac.
Content warnings:
Very minor warning for threats and non consensual grabbing of a woman by a man, murder, and suicide via metamorphosis. It's really a lighthearted game but it still does reference all that stuff even if it's in a comedic context.

All assets (music, code, sprites, backgrounds) in this game are human made, I can personally verify the code and sprites because I made them myself and I really did my best to make sure the backgrounds were real footage of greece and the lovely background music was a human composition, original creators are credited in the game under 'Info & Credits'. Hello everyone, I am an indigenous trans man from the global south; I have a life-limiting disease that will end my life within weeks if i am not medicated :P I do not have a thyroid, and this severe hypothyroidism is exacerbated by insulin resistant type II diabetes that has already deformed my heart 🥹 .
