“Tell her what?” He asked softly before his arms wrapped around her. He pulled her in close and held her tight, though being careful to make sure he wouldn’t cause her any kind of pain. “Lo..” He said softly, a hand moving to her cheek now. “Why would you do that? Why do you want to hurt?” He whispered, wiping a tear. “You know, losing you would tear me up. You’re like a sister to me. And you know what that means to a foster kid like me..”
“Cause if I hurt then maybe I would just stop hurting in the end. Maybe I would be better off dead,” she choked out wanting to pull away because she didn’t think she deserved the comfort. “I k-know. I just didn’t think about that. I thought I screwed everything up. I wanted all of the emotional pain to stop.”
