I'm not dropping them all AT ONCE because I'm still formatting everything for AO3, and I figured a break of a day or two would give these chapters some room to breathe. But they are thankfully, FINALLY, after one hell of an uphill battle, DONE.
I'd also like to thank Tori for her relentless support, drive, and kindness throughout the beta-reading process. I genuinely could not have done this without her. And also @medusas-left-tit, for the unwavering encouragement and support whenever I felt particularly stumped.

Aloy and Beta discover a pool table while ruin diving and decide to build one in the base for the gang.
With the help of Gaia, the rules for the different versions of the game are explained and the Gaia Gang actually find it pretty relaxing and fun. Of course the competitiveness comes out very quickly and soon they're playing to best each other.
They very early agreed that you're not allowed to use your focus.
Unsurprisingly Aloy is annoyingly good at it but what's hilarious is how Beta is as well and the two of them are forever going toe to toe.
Most of the time it's Aloy who wins but that's mostly because Beta likes to try new and extravagant tricks that tend to cost her the game, not that it bothers her.
Everyone else kinda makes it their goal to best Aloy to end her streak but alas, all have been unsuccessful.
All except one.
One particularly tough match between Aloy and Seyka, who holds the highest score besides the twins, has them both on the 8 ball, playing double on black. (The black ball or white ball must hit at least one side cushion before the black ball sinks)
Aloy is confident she's winning this as her girlfriend gets increasingly frustrated.
That is until Seyka hits one of these:
And Aloy, who was standing right behind her, loses all brain function and can't hit shit when it's her turn.
Seyka breaks her winning streak with a brilliant shot and a stupid smiley smirk, completely unaware, and thinks her girlfriend's red cheeks are because she kicked her ass.

My 2,000+ hours on HZD and HFW each does speak to my skill and cognizance wrt gameplay and navigation but what makes it worthwhile is the story and the world, namely, Aloy herself. I wouldn’t enthusiastically optimize my totalistic gamesense with HZD and HFW if totalistic gamesense was my priority. Every time I come back to either of them all I want to do is make Aloy the hero that the narrative says she is. I remember starting HFW on hard difficulty and getting so pissed that taking one hit staggers you and wipes 80% of your health bar, but once I got my kit optimized I could and can BOSS ultra hard without thinking twice about my moves and expecting destruction in my wake. And that means so much to me because Aloy was warring with a hostile universe and came out on the other side as a prolific victor. It sucks that we can’t project an Aloy-centered game in the near future. I’ll still enjoy the multiplayer game even if only because it’s branded in honor of Aloy and her aptitude. But nothing can beat the satisfaction of DECIMATING a Slaughterspine and her being like, “It’s done😊”
