Especially with the information he had going into the conversation, Hob is more right than people are giving him credit for.

I've seen so many people talking about how shit of a day Rue had, but Hob was told he had to enter into a political marriage the morning after he realized he's in love, literally shot in the back twice, and found out that the person he loves and firmly believes does not and could not return his affection ended the engagement.

Yeah, Hob's got an unhealthy relationship with his court. Because they've been taking advantage of and abusing him for who knows how many years.

Rue was acting like it's his fault that he didn't abandon all of his values at the drop of a hat. Even if he did know how they felt, they should recognize that that kind of complete worldview shift is a hard thing to do.

Hob is a victim of years of systematic abuse.

Give him some goddamn empathy.
