I once saw a comment on a tma episode that was like āisnāt it funny how Peter Lukas is an avatar of the Lonely yet heās also so outwardly charismatic and charmingā which is true, but also interesting because to me heās charismatic in a very cold, insidiously corporate kind of way that sort of perfectly encapsulates the isolation of the whole ātoxic grindset hustle cultureā bullshit.
Like in his interactions with Martin heās always emphasising how important it is that he completes his goal, how heās the only one who can save everybody, that he simply has to keep giving up more and more of himself for the sake of others. And maybe his reasoning does seem logicalāenticing, almostādrawing Martin in, even though ultimately his interests are only in increasing his own power and control. Peter also explains himself in a way that, honestly, feels highkey patronising a lot of the timeā like he just assumes that thereās no way Martin will disagree with him, but he still insists on putting on this facade of faux concern and insincere politeness.
He literally has the same vibe of every shitty boss who tells you with a smile on their face that you just canāt take your scheduled PTO, they need someone to work over the holidays, surely you wouldnāt mind stepping up for the sake of the companyā
And tbh I canāt really think of a better embodiment of pure isolating loneliness than that type of mindset.
