continuing on despite it all
i am. quite high rn and unreasonably delighted by the little pride flags that appear when u like queer posts. that shit is so cute
everytime i wear an outfit like this i think about this tweet
are you âadaptableâ or are you just willing to subject yourself to existing in low key background-level ambient misery
these are different things btw. actual adaptability means not dealing with being miserable long term. and being constantly mildly annoyed/frustrated with a situation but being âable to deal with itâ counts as ambient misery. btw.
let this be your sign to make your life just a little more livable. get a dollar store trash can for your bedside so Cup Cityâs invasion plans fall through. block a tag or post that makes you grind your teeth every time you see it. get some grip pads so your bed stops sliding across the hardwood a little bit every time you get in it. tell that person you need a little more support. if you get annoyed at a situation more than a couple times, change it. donât be content with being miserable.
and the more that you start doing this, the better you will get at detecting your own feelings and advocating for yourself! This is an important start to being more of a person in the world if you struggle with that
I fixed it, you're welcome xD
Please remember that Pride is important because someone tonight still believes theyâre better off dead than being themselves.
i think with how many jokes we make about pride and how happy we are about it, we need to understand why we have it. to appreciate people who lost their lives or are currently losing their lives for being themselves. remember the people who fought to give us the rights we have today. there are still so many people who are homophobic or transphobic, and that is what we need pride for. it is our job to be proud of ourselves so the bigots donât win. show them weâre not going away. pride month is about loving yourself and others no matter their sexuality
my knight you have to live you have to get up you have to put your hand over your wound and hold it there. you have to keep walking and walking and walking because you cannot lay down yet, itâs not time. wipe the blood off your breastplate and look up into the sun. lean on your sword if you need to. lift one foot after another. get up. get up. this would be a pitiful grave.
âThis would be a pitiful graveâ is now my new go-to when Iâm sad or upset. God thatâs fire
today i just (remembers to maintain privacy online) did something really cool. you have to trust me
we gotta get back to torrent distribution, i just watched someone eat eight grand in bandwidth charges because they ran a direct-download piracy site with local file hosting through cloudflare. torrents were invented literally for this exact reason
torrents work like this
i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3
unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it
i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map
i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs
this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.
crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.
please learn to torrent
An expert guide to get started using torrentsTorrents are one of the most popular forms of file sharing on the internet, accounting for over
always use qbittorrent, do not use bittorrent or utorrent.
reblog if i'm allowed to slide into your dms with an "i love you so much!!!" with no preamble or context
okay okay how bout this: reblog if ANYONE (including me) can slide into your dms with an "i love you so much!!!" with no preamble or context EVEN IF WE'RE NOT MOOTS AND/OR HAVE LITERALLY NEVER INTERACTED BEFORE
God I miss the days when you could show up to a strangerâs farm and heâd say âWhatâs your name, boy?â and youâd take off your hat and hold it to your chest to better let him see your face and reply âWhy I ainât got none, sir, on account of my mammy passed on before she could give me oneâ and heâd tell you heâs real damn sorry to hear that and ask what he can do you for and youâd tell him that you canât read nor even write neither but youâre mighty good with horses and can mend them fallen fence posts what you saw on your way in and wonât ask for nothing much more than a hot meal and a warm barn to sleep in and heâd keep his wife and daughters inside but send his boy who ainât got married yet even though his mama tells him he needs a woman out with a lantern and some stew at night and the two of youâd get to talkin and heâd throw you his flask to take a swig from and watch you drinkin from it while he leant against the door frame and when he finally got called back on up to the house again heâd take a sip from it too real slow-like like it werenât the whiskey what he were tryna savour
you see you donât get posts like this on twitter
every day at least once while on a walk i think to myself âit werenât the whiskey what he were tryna savourâ and sometimes if i am alone i say it out loud
when i was a tiny baby queer (aka a 24-year-old), i went to my first pride festival probably three months after i kicked ex-gay therapy to the curb and came out to my parents. being the people they are, my parents came with me. they werenât really sure about this whole gay thing, but they loved me and wanted me to be safe and happy and wanted to be involved in what was important to me, so they came along. (i also think my mother still might have thought i might get drugged or murdered or beaten by a protester of which there were plenty.)
anyway i wanted a memento of my first pride, you know, and this one vendor was selling keyrings, and i liked it, so i bought one. do you remember those italian charm bracelets that were all the rage like 10-15 years ago? it was a keychain like that, and it had a rainbow rooster, a rainbow cat, and then just a rainbow, and so I bought it.
i run into my mom a couple of vendors over and she goes oh you bought something? whatâd you get? so i showed her, and i was like, âIâm not sure why itâs a rooster and a cat. Seems kind of random. But I liked the rainbows.â
and my mom, who was some form of ministerâs wife for most of my childhood and teenagerhood, stares at me like she thinks iâm joking.
âWhat?â i say.
ââŠitâs a cock and a pussy, Jules,â she says flatly, and that is the story of how i died at the age of 24 while attending my first pride festival.
I love how every June this one gets dug up and passed around again, lmao.
oh no is this what weâre doing now

When I was at the natural history museum, the fossil section had stickers on the glass to engage children - things like "Flap your arms like a pterodactyl" or "Measure your hand against the mosasaurus." However the first of these I encountered, which I found alarming and threatening without context, was a sticker reading "Struggle like you are stuck in a tar pit"
I feel like more bright colors, an exclamation mark, or a more whimsical font choice would've also helped here to indicate that it is a Fun Activity For Children. Instead it felt like getting instructed in my inevitable fate by a road sign
awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
