After almost a decade on this site, I found another Tumblr user in the wild. I stopped to tie my shoe with rainbow laces this morning outside the silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg, and I heard it.

“I like your shoelaces.”

Oh. Oh no.

I responded the only way I could. “Thanks.” And then I reluctantly added, “I stole them from the president…and if that makes sense to you, I’m very sorry.”

The poor man, in full Colonial dress, stared at me for a long moment. And then burst into laughter. And said, “I haven’t thought about that in YEARS and this has never happened to me before.”

Introducing my new PC for Lawbind Studios’ Chronicles of Telpha homebrew campaign:

Vii’nthra Zhyrik (vEE-n-thra Z-eye-rik) is a Fire Genasi (Autumn Elf)Bloodhunter originally hailing from the Ember Lands of Delari. The 17 year old orphan was raised by their uncle Aisen in a notorious cult known as Society Volcania, bent on burning the world in order to create a new one. Aisen’s teachings nearly convinced Vii to follow this path, but the voice of Mirus, the god of Autumn, called to them. Vii’nthra made the decision to run from everything they ever knew and took any job they could get to survive the harsh roads of Delari. By chance, Vii’s small circus job took them to the Kingdom of Eastway for the Festival of Autumn’s End. However, after the Tarnish Order and their dragon destroyed Eastway, it’s now up to Vii, Otis, Arca, Zellia, and their other companions to gather the Blades of Itrix to resurrect the long dead goddess.

Really hate how every year when college students are finishing finals and high schoolers are taking tests and everyone's finishing school there's just like two months where it's absolutely impossible to have an adhd prescription filled 🥲. I'm so glad I'm not in school I'd probably Perish (it's actually agony for me to be unmedicated after 4 years and I'm also terrified of the mistakes I make and don't catch or can't fix)

My brain and body were absolutely not prepared to change on such a short notice and while I'm glad this non-controlled option is seemingly working well for me it's not working enough and won't be at full effect for *checks calendar* another 3 weeks. 🥲

My secret ability is apparently 'looking like an employee' because at every single retail store I have walked into this week, someone has approached and asked if I work there.

This is a chronic problem of mine, it only ceases to happen in the winter because I'll have a coat on or if I have someone with me.

I am asked constantly if I know where something is or if I work there. It was funny at first but now it's just kinda weird. Even carrying a bag doesn't help anymore. (I thought it was because I wear minimal accessories and my keys are on a lanyard in my pocket, but I think it's just Vibes)

Any ideas for solutions are welcome because all I can think of is to fully lean into dressing retro or vintage, or a t shirt/hat that says "I don't work here (⬅️does not work here)"
