i love when witch characters in stories aren't considered wrong on sole merit of being witches but because of the responsibility beign a witch carries. you can be justified in your feelings and righteous in your anger but human anger fades and a witches anger stays in the form of curses. even moreso i love when a witch is lamented to by their cast because they're more powerful than the rest but they're still not a god. to be pleaded with by the people around you "cant you DO something? cant you FIX this? isn't that what you do??!" just to tell them over and over you cant, you cant do that

to bear the responsibility of a power both in personal restraint and the limitations of it

Tomfoolery aside, the situation isn't dire, just.. overly complex. Too many moving parts. The most present threat is, ah, probably the fish thats trying to eat Rythian? Since she's the most.. actively dangerous bit, here. The one on the move, so to speak

A sudden realisation hits him like a sack of bricks, like cold water being thrown on him. Out of pure confusion, the anger - momentarily - breaks. He wheels back around.

He blinks a few times- before her reminder of his anger sets it simmering on the backburner quickly. He shakes his head, moving to look through his supplies… albeit with less outright intention. More taking inventory then getting ready for immediate war.

I'm not happy about the situation either. But it has to wait until we know what we're doing. Plus I just got back, are you really going to drag me to a war right now? The last sentence is said more lightly, though it's still entirely true.

He deflates more, but sighs and sets down the potion. The anger still simmered and boiled dangerously in the back of his mind- but he knew that it was suicide. Revenge hadn’t worked out well for him before, and that memory pierced deeper than any knife to his back or lightning to the arm.

I.. know. And.. it’s not like the problem is time-sensitive, what’s done is done. But this isn’t convincing me out of it- I’m going to find him. But I agree- Not this.. very second.
