That’s actually so adorable Rick
self indulgent flesh curtains/ memorick i love drawing characters wearing my clothes oh this is me posting
Kinda random but like- Summer said Ricks room stinks...
And despite me being mad at him due to episode 4...
I'd still really like to have a little sniff 🥺👉👈
Looking at Rick’s alcoholism realistically he probably will never be able to get 100% sober due to how long he’s been drinking and especially at his age the withdrawals would quite literally cause more harm than good
Narratively, I really like the whiplash of Rick being so nice last episode vs. him being so so horrible here because that‘s really what it‘s like living with an alcoholic. They can be the sweetest most caring person when they‘re sober/not THAT drunk, but then turn into the worst, borderline unrecognizable version of themselves when they‘re DRUNK drunk. This feels like the drunkest we‘ve seen Rick since the Vindicators. And it really puts into perspective just how drastically alcoholism can change someones personality. This to me is the best portrayal so far of his alcoholism as an actual disease that ruins him and everyone around him as opposed to it being a quirky character trait. This time they made sure to empathize that he would have never acted this way sober
Imo this was one of the best examples of alcoholism since Bojack Horseman. The opening scene where Rick is literally pissing himself and babbling nonsense is such a realistic portrayal of REAL alcoholism, not the romanticized “yeah I’m a functioning alcoholic who is cool and sexy and never get sick or act like a maniac.” He literally got on the floor babbling like a toddler in front of his horrified 14 year old grandson. We don’t really see Rick completely sober like ever but we’re able to see the drastic personality change from when he drinks swigs from his flask (probably just to avoid withdrawals) vs his binge drinking episodes.
Morty Smith stand behind me I’ll protect you
He’s got a sensitive stomach
I love how Rick AND Morty focused this season has been
