I love every season of Rick and Morty, but why did they have to lean so much into the “Rick is a god” thing in that one season and forever since then. Now there’s no stakes, nothing has to change, unless the writers want it to, and if you know it works like that then the story and characters don’t really matter much, there’s no (as dumb as it sounds to use this term about a show like rick and morty) suspension of disbelief.
Rick is unkillable, inmortal, a robot with a thousand weapons, can do whatever the fuck he wants at any given moment. So now where’s the relatability? Why should i feel sorry for him, why would i pity a god?
I think that’s my biggest complaint with the show, the fact they made Rick as inhuman as possible. Not inhumane, inhuman.
