Traditional Pie&Mash at Manze’s on Tower Bridge Rd SE1. If your not far from Tower Bridge this place is a must. I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve only ever seen Locals in here. It’s a real London experiance going to one of these Pie and Mash shops you can’t get anymore British than this. You can find them scattered around in what would have been the poorer districts of London. They all date from the Victorian era along with most of the fittings in these places. The food at the time was a poor staple diet for the working class Londoners and have been part of work-class London tradition for a Long time. You now tend to find the what is now the minority of British work class people visiting these places and it’s a real locals experiance which I would advise anyone looking for a hidden London experiance to try. They don’t advertise these places in your guides but you can research online which is the closest to you. I will be posting more shops as I get around town so do watch this space for more reviews and I’ll try to take some better pictures next time. Happy eating!
There is no love sincerer than the love of food.

Probably the best steak & ale pie I’ve ever eaten at Pieministers at Bough Market. Pie & mash for £5 wicked lunch.
