I just finished "Embers" (the book) and I thought about the possibility that The Man could earn another Oscar nomination. Henrik is a very complex character.

Why do you think Ralph was lying in the rosebud interview? Also I feel like I've noticed that he doesn't seem as happy or lively in recent interviews.

I took my time to think this answer, instead to write something very impulsive:

I've noticed that sadness and tiredness at least from 2 years from now, when he was in film festivals and Q&A promoting Conclave and The Return and going to Awards Ceremony, but in the Rosebud interview he looks very elusive and uncomfortable, almost faking some answers. It's not about his memories of his parents or his childhood, but about his answer to the question of talking of his dad again...I don't know. Looks rare to me, like he was thinking another thing in his mind and chose not to tell it. Instead, he said anything.

Later I saw another interview, that one where he is eating chicken and said that his favourite album was "Lux" (Rosalia) when he always has said that his favourite album is any of Patti Smith. It sounded like he was lying again.

Also, he's has been doing some things that some years ago looked uninteresting to him as anything related with royalty or knighthood. So when he was in Ascot it was very strange, as his backgrounds (about money issues and his almost nomadic lifestyle in childhood) were forgotten. I don't know if this is true, but there's a rumour about him dating with someone of the Royal Family, someone commented it in the video of the visit to the Criterion Closet with Juliette Binoche. I love his works in cinema and theatre, but as person he's getting worst.
