Oh, 2020. You are one bumpy ride for everyone. Still, here I am, writing this thank you message, grateful for surviving this challenging year. I saw one post saying that this year was all about appreciating what we have and I agree with that. 2020 was when I truly appreciated what God, family, and friends really meant to me. In the months when we cannot physically be together, we struggled to maintain our connection. Some ties were broken , yet most of them grew strength as time passed by. For those who stayed, thank you for not giving up on me. May our bond forever stay true and strong, no matter what lies ahead of us. For those who left and who I left behind, consider me as another chapter in your life which ended and I hope that you learned something from me. The pandemic brought both the best and worst out of me and that's the reality of life. This year, I learned to value my mental health more and love myself above others. I guess, somehow, my outlook in life became more matured and I'm happy with that achievement. But the biggest lesson I learned this year is to always act with love, kindness, and compassion. We'll never know the horrors that others might be suffering from these days, esp. since there is always that fear of being judged for expressing our emotions. So we should always be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to be angry. Be kind, even when the world is not. It was a great adventure, the whole decade from 2011 to 2020. The adventure so-called "adulthood" was far from what I imagined when I was a kid. Still, I'm looking forward to what this life has to offer for me. Because, as I always say, it's still a beautiful life. I'm still here. I'm breathing. I'm alive.
