Fangs' backstory under the cut that me and thatfuchishafucker's Purple guy wrote out on Skype [Trigger warnings of abuse and killing]
"Firi's coming! Firi's coming!"
The five year old bounced in place as he sat on the window seat in anticipation for his babysitter to arrive.
"For the last goddamn time, we know! Now shut up and sit still. Don't make me put you in your place!" his mother snapped at him as she poured herself another glass of wine. "If he likes you so much he can take your pathetic ass. You aren't worth much anyway."
A soft whimper replaced his once cheerful voice as he sat in silence. Firi would be there soon, he always was and Vinny couldn't wait.
It wasn't long before Firi knocked on the familiar door. It was really a courtesy. Vinny's parents told him to let himself in when he got there, and he opened the door, playfully poking his head in to see his friend.
"Pardon me, sir. Have you seen a kid about your size? He looks just like you, but I swear he smiles more." He grinned, excitedly waiting for Vinny to pounce on him.
Vinny's eyes widened and he jumped down, tackling his friend. "FIRI!!" He hugged him tightly. "I told Momma you were going to get here soon and I was right!"
His mother put on a smile, grabbing her purse. "Good to see you again, Firi. I have to go meet my husband somewhere so you two have fun. She kissed Vinny on the head.
"I will! I'm always good!" He giggled and looked up at Firi. "Right?"
His mother smiled, more then happy to leave but kept her expression genuine enough. "I'm sure you are. I love you Vinny. See you later." And she walked out the door.
The boy looked at the other, beaming. So what are we gonna do today?"
Firi picked Vinny up and sat him on his hip. He had really grown quite attached to the little bugger. Any thoughts he'd had about killing the kid were long gone. Kids with parents like that deserved happiness. He knew that all too well.
"Well, today I thought I'd take you to my favorite restaurant. Fredbear's Family Diner! I hear they are introducing a new character! You wanna come?"
With his arms clinging to his sitter, he grinned and nodded. It's not like he was afraid of falling, he really wasn't, he just was sort of clingy type of child.
"Momma and daddy never took me there before. Is it fun? And what's the character's name? Is it a dinosaur?"
He had a major obsession with dinosaurs and thought everything around him should be turned into one. Except Firi of course.
Firi chuckled and shook his head but his grin never faded.
"No but I think you might like him anyway. I'm not going to ruin the surprise! Let's get going!"
He carried Vinny out to the car and buckled him up. The diner wasn't too far away, but it was just far enough away that he didn't want to make the kid walk.
It didn't take long to drive there, and Firi happily carried his friend in, bouncing him on his hip as he opened the door.
Vinny bounced in the seat during the entire short ride to the diner. He hummed a silly little song that he had made up in his head and then giggled as he was carried inside the diner.
What he had seen caused him to look around excitedly.
"Wow! I like this!" He looked at Firi, his eyes big and bright as he did so. "Can we stay here forever?" He was already enjoying himself and he hadn't done anything yet. Then he seen Golden Freddy. "Who's that?"
The golden bear was performing for a group of children that was laughing and giggling as they watched.
Firi grinned and brought him a little closer to Golden Freddy, nothing but admiration on his face.
"That's Freddy! He's the best!"
They weren't there long before the new character was brought out. FIri looked as excited as the children around him when the sabor tooth tiger came up on stage.
Vinny reached out to touch the golden bear but quickly turned his attention to the animatronic that was brought out on stage. It was a cat looking one and even though the child didn't know exactly what kind of animal it was, he started clapping excitedly. "You didn't tell me it was a kitty! I like kitties!"
Fangs was about to say something but heard Vinny, turning his attention to the boy before grinning happily. "And I like you too!" He looked at the crowd and waved excitedly. "Hi kids! My name's Fangs! I'm new but I already have a feeling we are going to have fun! What do you think?"
When all the children cheered and agreed, he started performing. After awhile, he made his way down the stage and to Firi and Vinny. "What's your name?"
"Vinny!" He grinned happily.
The cat looked at Firi and smiled, still speaking to the young boy. "And who's your friend?"
The cat held out a paw to Firi, smiling. "Glad you could come by and see me!"
Firi grinned and shook Fangs' hand eagerly. He was perhaps more excited that a new character had been introduced.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world! I know I'm a little old to say it, but this is my favorite place to be!"
He hugged Vinny before he finally set him on the ground.
"Vin, you want to talk to Fangs while I go call your mom? I just want to make sure we get you home at a good time."
Fangs shook his hand in return and smiled happily. "No one is too old to visit Fredbear's! It's a safe place for everyone at any age!"
Vinny hugged him back and nodded. "I'll stay with Fangs! I promise!" When he was put on the ground, he looked at Fangs. "You're a kitty right? But you have BIG teeth so you're not a normal kitty are you?"
The animatronic shook his head, a smile still on his face. "I'm called a sabor tooth cat. See my two long teeth? They are sharp and are the reason I'm named 'Fangs'. Cause they look like fangs."
The boy looked intrigued. "So that's why you look like that huh?"
Firi stepped away from and asked the nearest employee if he could use the phone. He called the restaurant he knew Vinny's mother would be at and asked to speak with her.
"Hi there! Sorry to interrupt you, but I was wondering when you want Vinny to be home. I took him to Fredbear's to meet Freddy."
Vinny's mother was three sheets to the wind and then some when she answered the phone. A slight snarl escaped her when she heard her child's name. "I don't want him home. He's attached to you so you keep him. He's pathetic anyway. Do the world a service and throw him somewhere."
Vinny was hugging the cat after he was told that he was Fangs' friend and that things would be okay. "Cause things always get better at Fredbear's!"
Firi was honestly horrified. He knew Vinny's parents were mean, but... they didn't want him? He froze up in panic. The parents were drunk. Something bad would happen if he took Vinny home, and he knew it. But if he took Vinny back to his house, the parents would call the cops on him if they happened to change their minds.
He didn't know what to do.
For now, he took a deep breath, told Vinny's mother she didn't deserve such a good son, and went back to his friend. He'd figure something out. He had to.
"Good news! We can stay as long as we want!"
His mother hung up, glad to know she no longer had a child to deal with. What did he know anyway. He didn't live with the little heathen. So of course he wouldn't know how irritating he was.
Vinny looked at Firi and grinned. "Really? Momma doesn't care?" He looked at Fangs. "You hear that! Firi said we can stay forever!" Smiling, he hugged his friend. "I love you Firi!"
Firi didn't hesitate in hugging the child. He just wished the boy had more caring parents. No one deserved to be ignored like he was.
"You're not going to have to go back there anymore. I promise."
It was his turn to cling to Vinny. He just wished he knew what to do. He looked at Fangs, a worried smile on his face.
Vinny was used to being tossed aside by his parents. He didn't understand it, but he was used to it. When he was hugged, he hugged the older man back tighter.
"I don't know why momma and daddy get angry at me all the time. I don't do anything wrong... " The child looked to be on the verge of tears as he spoke.
Fangs rested a paw on the child's back. "Like I said, Vinny. Everyone is safe at Fredbear's. You're part of the family now. You and Firi." The cat hadn't missed the worried expression and he wondered what was happening.
Firi pulled back and looked Vinny in the eye. He had nothing but sympathy and compassion for the boy, and he almost couldn't believe he'd wanted to kill him.
"Listen to me, Vinny, alright? It's not your fault. Your parents are just... They're the worst kind of people. They don't deserve such a great kid."
The poor boy was on the verge of tears, and it made it harder for Firi to keep it all together.
"I promise you're never going to have to feel neglected or scared or sad ever again. Not as long as I have something to say about it."
He wanted to cry. Every solution he had to the problem involved the only thing he knew he was really good at, and he couldn't do it. Not to Vinny. Not to the only kid that liked him.
He hugged the boy tighter, unable to hold his tears back, no matter how hard he tried.
Vinny whimpered and nodded, looking at Firi. It didn't make sense though. Why did he get put with bad people when he was nice to everyone? "I didn't do anything wrong and yet I was given to them. Why? I'm a good kid... "
He hugged him tighter, crying as he did. Was Firi the only one that cared about him other then Fangs? That's what it felt like and he didn't like it at all.
Firi made himself smile, affectionately petting Vinny's hair. The poor kid needed some comfort.
"You're not just a good kid. You're the best kid. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. It doesn't mean they deserve it. Maybe you're better because of it."
He was going to keep his promise. He had to. He loved the poor kid. He was the brother he always wanted.
"One of these days, you're going to be around people that love you, and you're not going to have to remember the bad things."
The child nuzzled against Firi, sniffling as he nodded. "Like when I'm around you? I don' thave to remember the bad things when I'm around you."
Fangs was standing there the entire time, frowning and not liking what he had been hearing. Grownups could be mean at times. But these grownups that were Vinny's parents sounded worse then any of them.
Firi managed to smile, clinging to the boy. "Just like when you're with me. I'm never going to let you be sad again."
He pulled back excitedly. "Now, c'mon! No more sad faces. Let's get some pizza and play with Fangs." He looked at Fang's, almost worried he was crossing a line. "You don't mind, do you? No sad kids at Fredbear's, right?"
Vinny smiled and hugged him before his smile turned into a happy grin. "PIZZA!" Then he looked at Fangs. "Can we please play with you?"
The animatronic started jumping in excitement. "I don't mind at all! 'Fangs' for suggesting it!" He shook his head, still smiling. "You're right. No sad kids at Fredbear's. It's a safe and happy place to be! What would you like to do first?"
Firi placed an order for their biggest pizza, just how Vinny liked it, and watched fondly as Vinny and Fangs interacted. At least Fangs liked Vinny.
Fangs was currently playing hide and seek with the child, pretending like he couldn't find him. "You can hide good if even I can't find you!" He looked at Firi, looking amused. "Did you know he could hide so well?"
Vinny tried to stifle his giggles as he hid behind Golden Freddy.
Firi decided to play along, scratching his head as he looked around. "I knew he was a good hider, but WOW! He's REALLY good!"
He could see Vinny out of the corner of his eye, but made a point not to lok anywhere near Golden Freddy.
"Where could he have gone? Freddy? Have you seen him?"
Fangs nodded. "I'm so glad I'm not the only one that can't find him. He's the best at hiding if I do say so myself!"
Golden looked around from where he stood, pretending not to see him. "I haven't seen him. Should we get a search party?" He smiled.
All at once Vinny took off and jumped into Firi's lap. "Here I am!"
Firi fell dramatically over and wrapped his arms around the boy, laughing. "THERE you are! I was worried we'd never see you again!"
The boy giggled and hugged him back. "I will always come back. I promise!" He noticed the pizza and looked at Firi. "Is that for me?"
Firi grinned and nodded. "Of course it's all for you! All the pizza you can eat, and ice cream after!"
Vinny sat in his lap and grabbed a slice before chowing down. "You're the bestest big brother I could ever have!"
Firi's smile faded a little bit. Those words had never stung quite so bad before. He knew what he had to do to keep his promise and he hated it. He hated himself for it.
It was almost closing time, and Firi asked if they could hang out a little later. The employees trusted him. He had started working there a few months before, but spent most of his time taking care of Vinny. They knew that.
Freddy and Fangs were in sleep mode, which left Firi and Vinny alone.
He had to keep his promise to his little brother.
He slipped a sedative into Vinny's ice cream, hesitating before offering it to him.
"C'mon. One more ice cream before we get out of here. Alright?"
Vinny nodded, hyped up on sugar and enjoying every second of it. Never before had he ate so much or had so much fun. Not that he didn't have fun with Firi any other time. He just didn't know about this place.
Taking the ice cream, he began eating it. It tasted wonderful! Though he didn't know why he felt so tired with every bite he took. By the time he had finished it, he could barely keep his eyes open.
"Big brother... I'm tired. Can I go to sleep? And promise you'll wake me up when we get to your house? I love you."
Firi choked up as Vinny started to drift to sleep. He wasn't squeamish. He had killed before. He took great joy in killing, right up before he met Vinny.
"Of course I'll wake you when we get home. Get some sleep. Everything will be better in the morning. I promise."
He took the unconscious boy into the back room and hugged him, unable to stop himself from crying.
"I'm so sorry Vinny. You deserve so much more then this life. I love you."
No blood. He wasn't going to cut into his little brother. He couldn't bring himself to. He took a plastic bag and tied it around Vinny's head while he took Fangs apart.
He'd never cried like this before. He hated himself so much for this. But at least this way, Vinny would be safe. He would be protected. He'd hide the boy away inside Fangs so the cat could always protect him.
When he heard the plastic bag stop crinkling from the light breathing, he broke down entirely. He'd just killed the only person that ever meant anything to him. He took several steadying breaths and took the plastic bag off the kid's head. It looked like he was just sleeping. He hugged his little brother close, sobbing over him, whispering apologies to ears that would never hear again.
He'd sung Vinny to sleep more times then he could count, and he quietly began to hum Vinny's favorite lullaby as he laid the body into the metal suit. He closed the suit and and curled up with it, crying himself to sleep with his face buried into the animatronic's fur.
It had been a few hours since he had ate the ice cream and now he felt wide awake! And a little different but that didn't bother him. He looked down to see his older brother sleeping against him. Maybe they were at his house? He had no idea and he didn't care. The soft whirring of the electronic parts didn't register to his ears.
"Firi! Older brother! Can we play now? I'm wide awake!"
Firi jumped back. This was exactly not what he had been expecting. How the hell was he supposed to know Fangs would come alive at any given ..... wait. Did Fangs just call him older brother?
He couldn't help it. He threw his arms around Fan-.....Vinny. However it happened, Vinny was controlling the suit. There was a feeling of relief that washed over him. He could still play with his little brother.
When his older brother jumped back, Vinny was on the verge of whimpering. What had he done wrong? But his expression changed to pure joy when he heard his older brother say they could play.
"I don't care what we play! And big brother, are you okay? I was sleeping! I promise to wake up if I sleep again!"
He clung to the sabor toothed tiger. He never wanted to let go. Not ever.
Vinny nuzzled him more, being as affectionate as ever.
"As long as you're okay then I won't worry."
