what i’ve absorbed of robin hobb’s tawny man trilogy over the past month through general fandom osmosis. bullet pointed

ostensibly the plot revolves around fitz & co. having to rescue kettricken’s beautiful normal sixteen year old baby son from things but this is all just a cover for the actual plot which is fitz & the fool getting into increasingly constructed fanfiction scenarios. the fun of that is only slightly dampened by the really dumb codenames they’re using

fitz has a weeks-long total ego collapse over circulating gay rumors about him and the fool

and then they end up having fade to black sex in a tent about it. perhaps multiple times even

chade is miraculously still alive and still annoying

fitz kills a rat while balls deep (?) (!?)

the fool gets tortured to death

there’s a character called civil bresinga who exists primarily to, in colloquial terms, ‘chuuni the fuck out’ over everything
