all bugs can be organized into one of three categories: homies, chillers, and haters. hornets and wasps are haters. mosquitos are haters. most spiders are homies cuz they eat shitty bugs, some spiders are chillers cuz they dont really do anything, but also some spiders are haters because they’ll kill you. learn to tell the difference. bees are homies but they become haters if you fuck with them. most beetles are chillers but if they’re the kind of beetle that flies really fast at your face then they’re haters.

Reminder that the most marginalized Trans People are NOT invisible!

Trans people, especially the most marginalized trans people, are not invisible. They are hypervisible. The very presence of trans people in any given situation is almost always immediately noticeable, and being clearly visible is the mechanism by which people can and will target us for persecution and violence. 

This factor of hypervisibility is especially prevalent for transfeminine people, and trans people of colour, and even moreso for black trans women. For these trans people, their visibility is something that can lead directly to danger and violence. Still, their voice is frequently marginalized - it is not that they are invisible, it’s that their voice is systematically ignored. 

Trans people who do not worry about their visibility being a factor of danger, specifically trans people who do not experience racism or transmisogyny, have created a narrative where trans oppression is the result of invisibility. This narrative is used frequently to further marginalize hypervisible trans people, as it often claims that because trans women appear throughout media and the public conscience, they are privileged due to this. In reality, media and public opinion of trans women consistently degrades them. That is hypervisibility. 

If invisibility was really a sign of marginalization, then it’d be the near complete absence of hypervisible trans people when it comes to representation in positions of power in our society.
