âOh, uhm⊠I guess?â PJ said as he looked up and recognized Kari. He didnât actually know if the present was intended specifically for Christmas. But, as heâd missed out celebrating that holiday with his mum and Sybil, it would make sense. âItâs⊠from my mum and sister,â PJâs voice got a bit quiet as he said that. He still couldnât quite believe those words were true, even as he said them.Â
"Or maybe just a gift for the heck of it? Thatâs cool too!â Kari knelt down nearby, but tried to maintain his personal space. Hearing where the present came from, she couldnât keep the happy grin off her face. âAwe, thatâs so nice! Mind if I ask what it is? You donât have to tell me, but you looked really happy, and a gift like that must be good.â
xx-felicity:
âShh.. sh..â Felicity whined as she listened to the voice as she sat in the hallway with a bucket next to her. The room seemed too far away for her weak body that felt the need to be sick every two seconds. âItâs okay.. here is nice. The floor is cold and it feels great.. Iâd walk away though before you have to see this.âÂ
Kari frowned sympathetically as she took a seat next to Felicity on the ground. âHonestly, I think if I was going to get sick, or grossed out, it wouldâve happened already.â She couldnât figure out why all her fellow puffs had gotten so sick, but she wasnât about to let it keep her away from her friends in their time of need. âCan I get you anything?â
pete-jete:
Once he had settled his things back into his room and checked up on all five of his houseplants (which had been left in the more than capable care of the house elves and were doing quite well) PJ settled himself down to open up the present heâd gotten from his mother and sister. Heâd managed to find a quiet corner where he shouldnât be disturbed as the rest of the student body was busy settling back into the castle and opened the box up, the small smile returning as he saw what Sybil and his Mum had packed inside.
Kari was ready for classes to start back up again, though she did miss the freedom of having nothing to do. She supposed sheâd have time after graduation, but that was still months away. Wandering the halls, trying to decide on something to do, she spotted PJ, and approached him with a grin. "Whatcha got there, a late Christmas present?â
Kari receives a handmade card and set of ornaments.
Kari let out a little laugh when she got Doryâs handmade card, and then eagerly tore open the gift. Taking out each ornament in turn, she smiled, and hung them around the upper posts of her bed until she could get them on a tree. She went to her trunk, and pulled out paper and a pen, to write her roommate a thank you in return.
Dory,
So I just got your card and gift, and can I just say that theyâre both adorable? The snowflake are already hanging around my bed, and the card will probably end up taped to the inside of my trunk. or my headboard or something. Anyway, thanks so much, Dory, youâre the greatest roommate a girl could ask for, and I hope you fantastic Christmas!

Kari,
Your present was so kind. I know we donât know each other but I am trying to give everyone at Hogwarts a present this holiday season so no one is left out. I made you a gift too! I hope you like it, itâs a sugar scrub and it smells really good I promise. <3,
Anna
Kari couldnât contain the broad smile that took over her face when she received Annaâs gift. Sheâd never used a scrub before, that was okay, she could figure it out; plus it had a rather nice smell when she unscrewed the top. Taking out a piece of parchment, she set to work writing a response.
Anna,
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the gift! Isnât it just lovely when two strangers can do something nice for each other? I certainly think so, especially around the holidays, and seeing as weâre trapped here, itâs definitely a nice gesture. Anyway, I hope we can change that but about not knowing each other sometime soon, because you seem nice!
See you around, Kari
@atleastivegotachance-anna
Having gotten stuck by the blizzard, and having little to no clue what to get people for Christmas, Kari decided to make a little something for as many people as she could manage. So, around the castle, teachers and students alike, found little holiday trees, filled with chocolates. Attached to all of them, was the following note:
Everyone deserves a little something during the holiday season, no matter what they celebrate, or even if they celebrate nothing at all. So, I hope this brightens your day, even if only for as long as the chocolate lasts. Sorry if you donât eat chocolate, it was just the thing most easily accessible. Anyway, I hope you have a lovely holiday!

jainsnaturebrain:
Jain had just returned from one of her usual few day absences. Her sketch book was held tight under her arm full new drawings and notes she had taken. She was hoping to make her way back to the Ravenclaw dorms without interruption, but that didnât seem to be in the cards for her today. She had been so focused on all the class work she would need to catch up on and her destination at hand that she hadnât noticed a line of feathers still attached to her shoulder. So it came as a bit of a surprise when she was stopped on her way. She hadnât quite heard what the person had said to her the first time, but someone was definitely trying to get her attention. âIâm sorry, what?â Â
Kari wasnât sure what she was doing, following a trail of intermittent feathers, but they were lovely, and she had a feeling they might lead to something interesting. When she found a loose page next, followed closely by a girl with feathers on her shoulder, and a book tucked under her arm, she tried to get her attention. When that didnât work, she reached out and tapped her lightly, hoping physical contact of some sort would help; it did. Holding out the things sheâs gathered, she smiled. "I was just trying to let you know that you dropped these; at least Iâm guess it was you. I figured they might be important, so it was probably best to make sure you didnât lose them.â
Ooops..
iknowtheway:
Moana was confused by the girls harsh words. She should apologize whether or not it was her responsibility? That hardly seemed fair. Why should she accept the blame for something if she wasnât at fault. âWellâŠit was an owl. So unless Iâm supposed to be able to command all of the owls that deliver the mail here at the school Iâm not so sure I can help you out.â
Kari wasnât sure what had prompted her to snap, but something in her felt a little better once she did. "Well then, whoever the owl was meant for, ought to apologize. And I didnât mean that you should be the one apologizing, just that whoever was responsible should; you just happened to be the only person who spoke up when I looked over.â However it was completely overshadowed by the part of her that felt guilty afterwards, and wanted her to crawl under a rock. With a sigh, she attempted a smile of apology, but didnât manage to do much more than flex her cheek muscles. âI didnât mean to snap at you, especially since you didnât deserve it. Iâm not usually so rude, and I really am sorry.â
Ooops..
iknowtheway:
âThat definitely wasnât me..I think it was someone over there. Yep..definitely came from that direction.â
Kari looked up from her book, startled when something went whizzing by her head. Looking around, she made eye contact with the only person paying attention, when she was interrupted, by the very person she thought responsible. âWell it came from your end of the table, so whether or not it was you, or intentional at all for that matter, itâs still polite to apologize when you nearly clock something with whatever that was..â
phineas-t-kettletree:
At the mention of Paisley, Bobble had to laugh. âThatâd be my group,â he admitted with a soft smile. âAnd it was just as wild as tales probably tell. Maybe a bit more tame. I think Paisley has told me worse stories. But it was fun nonetheless.â
âOh, right, of course it is; sorry.â Not that she had anything to apologize for, Kari hadnât said, or even thought, anything remotely offense, but she figured better safe than sorry. âWow, that mustâve been fun, if not a little too much fun. I donât doubt it, seeing as I havenât heard too much by way of outrageous stories so far, and those usually spread like wildfire around here. Iâm glad you had fun though! Thatâs really all that matters when it comes to parties, isnât? Good times with friends, with the hopes that nobody gets hurt or anything like that.â
starfishinparis:
âYou can do this,â Paris whispered to herself, âJust go up, and say hi. What could go wrong?â Though she tried keeping a positive outlook, the goal she set for herself ahead loomed before. Physically, Paris was in the library, between two shelves, hugging her textbooks and peeking out at the study tables, which were relatively empty except for one or two students.Â
âI mean, even if they ignore me, whatâs it to me?â she continued. As the words flew out of her mouth though, she remembered her not-so-shining moments with her classmates and shut her mouth promptly.Â
âWhatâs in the past is in the past. I shouldnât let that hold me back!â, she thought, and with that, Paris came out of her âhidingâ spot, and approached the student sitting closest.
âHi! Can I sit here?â
Kari was glad to have managed some much needed research time, but it wasnât exactly a subject she cared to dwell on. As the first half of the yearâs end loomed, she was worried about anything and everything. She was currently sitting in the library, looking up possible jobs for a future graduate, but also attempting to finish a History of Magic paper. The stress and anxiety were really starting to get to her, so she was grateful for the interruption. Looking up at the girl whoâd come up to her study table, Kari gave her friendliest smile, and nodded. âHey! Of course you can, thereâs plenty of room. If you need more though, feel free to move some of the books, I didnât originally intend to spread out quite so much.â
wherethelightsmeet-kenai:
Kenai threw his hands up for a moment in frustration before quickly pulling them back down to cover. âYou act like itâs all hanging out! Iâm covering it!â He  let out a groan and just shook his head. âSomeone stole all of my cloths while I was trying to shower. Did you see anyone run by with them?âÂ
Kari couldnât stop the blush that overtook her features, no matter how hard she tried. âSorry, Iâm just not used to naked people, whether or not their bits are covered.â Shaking her head, she turned back to him slowly, only lowering her hand when sheâd gotten her urge to giggle under control. âNo, canât say that I did, but then people are always running through here. Plus, I canât just assume everyone carrying a bundle clothes, stole them from an unsuspecting person, now can I?â
Welcome Back !!! || Dory & Kari
adorable-dory-crosby:
Doryâs head tilted mid-bite of her chocolate. âI didnât know Hersheyâs had a whole townâŠâ Maybe she had known at one point, but the fact had gotten lost along the way. Still, it was kind of neat. âI bet their factory is huge, though. Like, Willy Wonka huge.â Dory had seen Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when she was a kid, well before the Accident that had caused her memory problems, so she still remembered most of the details. But most especially the introduction sequence. âI wonder if Hersheyâs ever tried something like the golden ticketsâŠâ
Kari nodded as she got her own small piece of the chocolate bar. "Mhm, Hershey, Pennsylvania, I did a project about the company once for school; before Hogwarts, I mean.â She was a little surprised she remembered anything about it, considering sheâd done the project nearly eight years ago, and school before Hogwarts was mostly a blur, but she was happy to talk about it. âFrom pictures and things, Iâd say it is, plus you can take a tour, but itâs kind of like a ride, and then thereâs an amusement park too.â That was one of those things on her bucket list, and not all that far from the top, but going to America costs money she doesnât have, so sheâs mostly contented to dream from afar. âWho knows, they might have, but for it to really be the same, it wouldâve been way back when Milton was still alive.â
HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY KARI McKEEN
mr-lightning-bolts:
Zacharius grumbled as he opened his potions textbook. He was seated on a great rock in the courtyard and had been doing his homework for all of five minutes before he got tired of it. âI need to invest in hiring someone to do this for meâŠâ he muttered to himself while looking at the textbook and scratching his head.
Kari was sitting nearby, studying for a quiz, when his words caused a small snort to escape. Closing her book, leaving a finger to mark her place, she turned to him. âSomething tells me that hiring someone else to do your homework is frowned upon, if not strictly against the rules.â She took in the textbook, and chuckled softly. âIs it potions in particular that you hate, or just schoolwork in general?â
wherethelightsmeet-kenai:
Kenai let out a panicked scream as he looked outside the small shower and noticed all his things gone. âFucking hate these Slytherins running everywhere.â Of course that was his first thought as to who would take the cloths. Stepping out he groaned as he covered his parts with a hand and pinched his nose. Walking out out he used his other hand for a shield and just glared at the first person he crossed paths with on a mission to find his cloths. âWHAT!? Itâs not what you think⊠just.. fucking hell.âÂ
Kari turned, furrowing her brow in confusion, and putting up her hands in defense. âWhoa, calm down, I didnât..â Just then, she realized he was naked, and slapped a hand over her eyes, before spinning to face the other way. âJaney Mac, why are you nip?!â
