context: on mianite jordan was asked to follow Mianite the god of order, and law. jordan did not want to do that. jordan also didn't want to join Dianite the god of chaos. so he made ianite the god of balance. functionally within the series ianite was just mianite 2, and fought mostly for order in season 1 (s2 was different but y'know). anyways. imo jordan becoming the head of the hoa is him embracing his mianitee roots that he's always had but been unable to embrace.

jesus, okay. bigb's fourth wild life session goes as follows:

bigb schemes with mumbo and grian to lure scott into their trap

cleo overhears. she rightfully gets mad at him

bigb tells her he was lying. cleo (RIGHTFULLY) does not believe him.

he says (TO HER FACE) that he's never done something like that.

SHE RIGHTFULLY REMINDS HIM OTHERWISE.

he goes crying to ren (wholesome box boys reunion!!!).

the way he explains the situation sounds like he deadass was going to help mumbo and grian and lied to cleo about lying. which is. hysterical.

ren ropes bigb along in his plan to kill and trap grian

while planning, bigb sees grian in the distance.

bigb lies about killing a pig for food, sneaks off and TELLS GRIAN. ABOUT THE PLAN TO KILL HIM.

bigb still ends the session allied with ren and martyn, neither of them knowing he snitched.

by the way both plots are executed about a million miles away from bigb. he doesn't even get actually involved with either scheme he's roped into. he literally misses the grian kill because he was too busy cooking.

and then he still meets with the Gs after all that, saying sorry to scott

and then he shoots pearl. which ends in him running away as she and cleo shoot after him.

all this to say: bigb is a go-with-the-flow kind of guy. in the WORST WAY POSSIBLE. this man is not as bound to the world of roleplay and alliances which means he does whatever the fuck he wants. i stand by my theory that this man thrives best when he's a lone wolf. he does not fucking care about anyone else, the only reason he has allies is for survival!! he's just a silly guy who does what he wants!! his principles are unknowable!!! his moral compass is spinning!!! he thinks consequences don't apply to him and he's wrong but he's not going to act otherwise!!! all he knows is eat hot chip and lie. and he drives me crazy

i will never get over the accidental trans/non-binary coding of just ianite as a concept btw. what if you entered into the world and were told there were only two options for you to pick. the entire world functions on this rigid dichotomy, and now you’re expected to fall into either extreme. not just expected, but pressured.

but neither of them feels right. feels like you. so you make your own choice. a third option, one specifically forged to fit your very being. one that makes you happy, that doesn’t make you feel trapped in a box of another’s creation.

and everyone laughs. they tell you that’s not how it works, you can’t just do that. that’s not real. you’ll snap out of it eventually, come to terms with reality and pick a real side for once.

hello!!! as you are the resident miante person in mcyt (there might be another one but in my opinion it's you) I have a question: if I wanted to watch mianite how would I go about that/where do I find it? I know it's a youtube thing but I don't know which channel it's actually on and I am. Extremely Curious about it & want to watch it but I have no idea where to do that /genuine question

hello! thanks for the ask!

mianite has four main POVs that remain in VOD and episode form on the creators' channels, they all have a playlist for it and you can find them pretty easily by looking up "[creator name] mianite s1" on youtube.

i recommend starting off with jordan captainsparklez' POV like we did, as he is involved in mostly everything in both s1 and s2 and his episodes are edited down to only really have the important bits. if you decide to watch back through the series later from another perspective, tom syndicate's POV is another good one to watch as he's kind of on the opposite side of everything happening in s1 and it puts a lot of his actions in context that jordan left out of his episodes.

if you don't want to watch through the series in its entirety (which is completely understandable), fern @voidandradiance has made a playlist of the important lore moments in both mianite s1 and s2 that she'd be happy to share :]

also it's really funny to me that we are the resident Mianite Guy to you when we've only been here for like, six months. this series turns ten years old today and there are people in this fandom who have been here since the beginning of it or at least who have been here for way, way longer than we have.

@cactusprisms is also someone that we see around a lot in the notes of our mianite posts, although we unfortunately havent talked much. also more of a general purpose blog but worth following anyways. shes vibing.

it forever haunts me that because of cc!jordan’s play style c!jordan doesn’t really have a “home”. most mcrp characters are seen to have a “home” sever. the hermits are still from hermitcraft, even when they’re in the life series or vault hunters or what have you. you, as an outsider, can oftentimes look at them and know where they “originated” or are “supposed to be”. but because jordan is so diverse in his content, does so many series and skips around so many places, he doesn’t have a home, not really. he hasn’t for a while—first losing his physical home after mianite’s first season, then losing the people he came to call home after its second. he’s a wanderer. a drifter. everyone knows of him—of course they do, he’s the captain! the man himself—but no one could tell you where he’s come from, because that place no longer exists

So to combat the cycle of diamond inflation and devaluing, Cubfan has created a system that can produce a finite and controlled number of books (which can't be duplicated due to copying mechanics) that he proposes could be used as (for example) Hermit Cash, consistently standing in as currency and being able to be turned in for diamonds. Since there's a consistent amount of Hermit Cash, its value relative to diamonds would only ever increase.

He's re-inventing paper currency on the diamond standard. And has made himself the mint. And the bank.
