do you remember why you followed prev
yes :)
no :)
do you think that chorus stalks can be used to make a fabric similar to bamboo silk. i'm deciding that they can be.
the number 1 rule of fanfic is have fun and be yourself. the number 2 rule is the average healthy adult male can lose roughly 2 liters of blood before dying.
incredible prev tags
ALSO ODYSSEUS LITERALLY JUST GOES TO TROY HE JUST GOESSSSSSSS they don’t even TRY to put baby telemachus in the paper shredder he just dips without a fuss. they change odysseus hanging the maids to penelope kicking melantho out for girlboss reasons and they TOOK AWAY MY BAG OF WIND #mybagofwind they also took away the dipshit that falls off of circe’s roof and dies. deeply shallow meaningless movie.
ohhh my god I just fact-checked, Nolan actually DID cut the "Nobody" scene from his Odyssey movie. Mfer that is like cutting the Father reveal from Star Wars. Let me speak in a language you understand this is like not dressing Batman up in his suit. "It was not possible to work it in" the TikTok musical with a budget of $4 and a scratched Hamilton CD managed to work it in in SONG form, step up your FUCKING GAME

there are so many ways that i am already certain that nolan has absolutely failed in the odyssey. but i KNOWWWWW he is not going to make the bow contest sexy enough. what's the fucking point if the bow contest isn't sexy. return (2024) did it! odysseus was fucking that goddamn palintonos in front of and for his wife. that was a threesome AND IT SHOULD BE. i bet nolan won't even let penelope come up with it. i bet nolan won't even let the slaughter be weird odypen foreplay that they plan together. why is there a human spine on a helmet.
modern adaptations of the odyssey keep shying away from the slaughter of the suitors and quite frankly it's a little pathetic. the WHOLE POINT is that it's a revenge narrative. you aren't saying anything cool or enlightened by having penelope plead for the suitors' lives or by having odysseus spontaneously decide that he doesn't want to kill anyone else, actually. you're actively undermining what i would consider to be the most important parallel between odysseus and penelope, and that's the fact that they are the Sexually Harassed Couple. the slaughter of the suitors is revenge on the increasingly violent men that have been threatening penelope, and it's revenge by proxy on calypso who did carry through on the threat of raping odysseus. yes it's a parallel to the siege of troy. yes it's a device for odysseus to prove his masculinity through combat. but it is mostly about defending his wife from sexual harassment. adaptations that decide to spare instead of slaughter the suitors aren't "ending the cycle of violence" or some shit, they're just reinforcing the cultural narrative that sexual harassment is fine actually and doesn't need consequences.
from what i'm hearing, nolan didn't quite stick the landing for his ending, but at least made a good honest try for it. at least there IS a slaughter of the suitors. so i will give credit where it is due and say thank you christopher nolan for the homicides
nevermind i am taking away most of his credit based on the wiki edits. wdym it's literally only polybus melanthios and antinous. come ON christopher you gotta give us more than that. boooo BOOOOOOO
listen. it takes some real loyalty freaks to be soulsworn but nobody else would uhaul those vows faster than odypen. they get introduced to the concept and dont even let you get through the sentence before they're in the storeroom oohing and aahing over potential options for a vowknife like a couple shopping for wedding rings. they invented homophrosyne of course they would

I had to redraw this
having a multi year long character obsession becomes like a abstract thought experiment at some point

good morning everyone it's time to be tortured to insanity and then of course tortured for being insane
there's something so special about a ranged magic user switching to physical violence out of rage. no more shows, no more tricks, no more chances. they are simply going to beat you to death. maybe they justify it to themself by saying that it's because they can't hold the concentration to cast correctly, or because they don't have the time or power to keep using magic, but some part of them just wants to have the blood under their own nails. some part of them just wants to have the satisfaction of killing with their own hands.
but there is also something very special about a close-quarters combatant shifting to ranged magic. a paladin, or a champion, or someone else carrying a power that they usually hesitate to let loose. someone who fights with a weapon, in order to not be the weapon themself, in order to maintain some sense of fairness and honor. and then they stop hesitating. and then they let loose the full weight of that magic and absolutely devastate the world around them, because there is no longer any room between them and their rage that honor can fit into.
