Rodolphus stood near the back of the shop, his eyes roaming over the curated selection of dark artifacts on display. He was not exactly looking for something specific today. Instead, he had decided it might be interesting to simply browse the darker shops that Knockturn Alley had to offer. Rodolphus turned slowly from a nearby display case, raising a single, well-defined brow in acknowledgment. The stiff, defensive line of his shoulders eased just a fraction, his posture shifting into something cool and familiar. A faint, polite smile touched his lips. "Emmeline," he said, keeping his hands loosely behind his back. "Merely appreciating the local curation. I might ask the same of you, though it seems your visits are always so... transactional."

"You look like you are in a rush," he murmured, his voice dropping slightly. "Surely whatever you are looking for can wait a moment?" It was a quiet invitation to linger, and they both knew it. She had only just crossed the threshold, her hands empty and her shopping unbegun. He didn't actually think she was running late; it was just a smooth pivot to keep her talking.

Alecto walked into the store, she needed to pick up an order she placed a couple of days ago, some manuscripts that needed to be translated. She had been having a couple of hard days, so she was tired and slightly irritated.

There weren't too many people inside. She walked straight to the empty counter and placed a piece of parchment on the table. "There's an order for Carrow" she said softly and the man disappeared back into the storage to pick it up. Alecto sighed and looked around until she recognized a familiar face.

"Hello, Rod" she said with a soft smile.

"Alecto," he greets with a slight incline of his head. One hand hovers in the air, slowly tracing the contours of a potentially cursed artifact that looks older than his grandparents, while the other rests casually on his hip.

He steps closer, the faint scent of old paper and expensive cologne following him. "Picking up anything of... interest?" he questions, his dark green eyes dropping to linger on the piece of parchment she just set down on the counter.
