Hey all! Last week I went through with a surgery to help with the intense chronic back pain I’ve been dealing with for the last 3-4 years (Fused my L5-S1), everything went fine but it’ll be leaving me out of work for maybe 1-2 months, and probably 4-5 months before I can handle full time work again, so to help alleviate that I’m offering super cheap commissions!

I’ve been out of the art game for a while, which is why for now I’m only able to do colorless sketch commissions, but as I get more practice more options will be available! I take payment through paypal invoices only! Below is the infoooo!!

This procedure has been a huge toll on me and my family physically, mentally and financially but it just could not be avoided or delayed any longer, so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, and if you can’t get one PLEASE REBLOG AND SPREAD THE WORD!! I need this help and have no other way of earning money at present, so do me a solid yeah? See, but it's hard to charge those high prices cause who is really going to pay THAT much for a drawing? That's why they charge low, to keep up the customers.

Artists for magazines+video games charge those prices, people who need that kind of work will pay for it. I get sketch commissions and stuff but if you’re working on a project you need to get paid more, a $10 character design sheet is less than minimum wage by an unbelievable amount. Keep in mind I’m not talking about a tumblr artist stream (even though I still think that they should charge more for their work anyways) but rather getting contracted for something like an indie game

Oh indie games are the WORST though, very rarely have I encountered one that hasn’t either been manipulative/outright lying, or so mismanaged that there’s no hope for the actual project to see completion. And the literally pages that read only “Unpaid Opportunities” on forums MEANT for artists to find work like that, is just disgusting. Just today I’ve read a listing saying that “We won’t be able to pay you until the kickstarter gets funded” (So A. already asking for free work that MIGHT get paid for like...6-10 months from now) and then only offered like $25-$50 for the artists who get “selected” for the Kickstarter (which means asking for free art and then also not even be USED?) and THEN if you get selected, and I love the condescending tone that’s carried with “selected”, to work on the official card-game project, you’d make maybe $50-$75 per piece! that will be on the cards! as in the physical goods! but only 50-75 despite literally BEING the art for the game. Things like this are usually pretty typical, the list of terrible job listings is nigh infinite.

I gotta say... 3 years of chronic pain and the end is hopefully a month away... times get rough when you can't really work and you give it your all anyway as a profeasional chef, but tonight I'm gonna sit down to this meal of suped-up ramen, chocolate stout after making a batch of fudge and imma just... relax. I hope all of y'alls night is good too

I’m going to go ahead and put a read-more here, but there’s a rant about this, and while people who know me in person understand I’m a ranty guy, I try my best to avoid this behavior on social media, but I’ve fucking had enough.
