Pretty much all of my art is of my current hyperfixation - the original Lilo and Stitch and the character Captain Gantu (in case you couldn't tell)
I am working on a fanfiction that I am not posting until it is finished! It will be a canon x OC with Gantu... A slow burn, low-spice story about healing from the past and learning to trust. There will be some heavy topics /themes.
I also have a LOT of fanon worldbuilding where I expand on the canon Lilo and Stitch.
And of course there's my OC! He's one of MANY I've made in the L&S universe, but ofc he's the main one. He's Gantu's lover, and more than a little bit of a self-insert...
All of my fics can be found on Ao3, but very few of my characters have appeared thus far.
The full series of my main fics will be renamed but rn it's "Folk Song Fleet."

WELL THAT'S A SIMPLE QUESTION TO ANSWER--
Honestly, I feel like a poser for saying this because everyone else probably is, but he really was always my favorite L&S character. Every alien and human in the movie had such incredible visual design, but he stood out because he was a "villain" and almost a minor character. As a kid I always felt sympathy for the "bad guys" of any media, partly because they were the coolest/best written characters, but also because I was undiagnosed until high school my child self saw "bad guys" and thought, "no one is nice to them/they're no one's favorite," and would automatically have the villains be my favorite.
There is so much care put into the original Lilo and Stitch that in a single movie, you can "know" almost every character. Even though Gantu's a side character, he's complex and has motivations.
The tv series was obviously not on the level of the first movie's quality, but as a whole I don't think any of Gantu's lore is shoehorned in or not believable.
I think it was just a result of production that he was really destructive and almost cruel in the series. He never seemed like the overly vengeful type. He lost everything he worked for and was treated terribly - anyone would be at their limit in his situation.
And of course, there's the novel of fan information I've made for him & his species and everything in my fanfiction/fanon.

I'm thinking that some time after Leroy & Stitch, after Gantu resumes his position as Captain and as Duran's music career takes off, they're not *quite* a celebrity couple but their relationship is pretty well-known...
And Gantu's father tries to reach out to him. He wants to talk to his son after several years, only after he becomes highly successful and is openly gay? HMMMM NOPE
