this is my lazy appreciation post

genuinely learning about it changed my life, no joke no lie.

doppel and glass and the rest of the heartless cast (slant rhyme) legit altered my brain chemistry, i don't think i've ever loved a character more than doppel. the representation in it makes me feel alive. every drawing of flint with top surgery scars but he still looks like the most masculine on the team makes me tear up every time i look at it, because im trans, and he's trans, and he's everything i want to be and more.

One of my favorite headcannons of mine is that Doppel and Glass have a mix of northeastern american (think new york or boston) and german accents

(i imagine their city does something where the accents are on a scale with german= rich and northeastern american= poor)

Doppel will start 'cursing' in german when in pain or annoyed but he's actually just listing fruit or saying "gosh ding dang". they rarely curse in english and only glass actually curses in german.

As a reminder: opera was popular in the victorian era (which steam punk is based on). Lorelei is a german name, Doppel is a german word, Doppel's hometown was witch-phobic, and he was in a rich family.
