"Oh?" Gabriel asked with a soft smile curling onto his lips as he folded his hands on top of his desk. He felt smug. "And why should I listen to you, Kevin? Give me genuinely one good reason to listen to you. Why shouldn't I expand out there, hm?" Gabriel asked, grinning to himself as he continued to be absorbed in his own thoughts.

Gabriel looked more than unamused with the man in front of him. "Kevin, the goal for Strexcorp Synernists Incorporated is to expand nationwide, so why on Earth would one section of the desert even matter? Desert Bluffs needs to expand. The city is simply too small," he explained with a wave of his hand.

"Now why can't I do what I want, exactly?"

Earl didn’t give a flipping fuck if the bastard was busy. He walked around the desk, moved the laptop out of the way, and sat his ass down in place of it. 

He poked his finger against Gabriel’s cheek. 

"Busy, busy, busy.  Looking at porn?”

Gabriel was not even remotely amused with Earl the second that he moved his laptop. The man growled lightly under his breath and narrowed his eyes.

"Are you done? I have files to review, Harlan. Who even let you in here? My secretary knows not to let anyone but Kevin into my office unless an appointment is scheduled."

"If you're here to annoy me, you're actually doing quite a decent job at it, honesty," Gabriel snarked to the person in his office, glancing up from his laptop for a brief moment before smirking to himself and going back to his work. 

"As you can see, I'm busy."

There was really no warnings or preceding to this as Kevin suddenly appeared in a fit of giggles and pinched Gabriel's cheek. "Hi, Mr. Sunshine," he gushed before kissing the other, unpinched, cheek.

Gabriel was almost stunned as Kevin pinched his cheek, only to look up. There was a soft smile on the man’s features as his boyfriend kissed him. “Oh…” There was a tilt of Gabriel’s head as he looked emptily at Kevin.

This just had to be another hallucination. There was no possible way Kevin was back. 

"You’re not actually here, Kevin."

"Of course I am."

But the voice sounded distant despite how close he was to Gabriel. The closeness only seemed to emphsize how far away, how nonexistant Kevin was. To Kevin, however, he couldn’t have been any closer to Gabriel if he tried. And tried he did.

"Where else would I be?" His voice was soft as he relaxed, the laughter fading from his voice as he only smiled and moved to straighten Gabriel’s tie.

"My love, those Night Vale monsters killed you, or.. or sent you away. I haven't seen you in months properly, my love" Gabriel said calmly, moving to grab the alcoholic beverage next to him. Things weren't going well. He just wanted his boyfriend back.

"Every time I think you're here, sunshine, you never are. I'm getting tired of this game. I have a whole team searching for you and they keep coming up fruitless with their efforts." Gabriel cleared his throat and glanced back up at Kevin, not sure if it was a hallucination or not.

"I just want you home."
