Shea sighed to himself, leaning on his side before he decided to just sit down. The smell of chinese food filled the tiny box they were stuck in. Shea didnโt say anything, he leaned forward and reached to push the emergency button before leaning back again. He could sense the distaste from Loren, but Shea still didnโt offer any words. He was used to the negative feelings toward him now. He deserved it. He glanced up at Loren still standing before resting his head in the corner of the elevator. โWelcome back,โ He finally said quietly. It wasnโt biter, Shea was just tired.
Nothing seemed to be going right for Loren since the moment he had returned from his trip. Getting stuck in an elevator with Shea though, that was just the icing on the cake. โYeah, thanksโ he huffed. Leaning his back against the wall of the elevator. He gazed over at Shea and he could see that the male was obviously tired. But, he didnโt wanna ask about it. He imagined it would be tiring chasing after someone elseโs man. โSo.. does this happen a lot? I mean, we might as well eat this if weโre gonna be here a while, yeah?โ And that right there was his attempt at trying to be friendly.
Nodding her head as he spoke, mixing did sound good. Some passion with a hint of strawberry? Now that sounded like a good drink too. Hmm, maybe she should see if she couldnโt get that as a drink at some point.ย โDefinitely. Though, donโt want it too sweet. Canโt mistake stuff for a lollipop exactly.โ Oh that poor partner getting bitten if so. Oh that poor fucker. Oh how adorable the other was as he started to blush up though. She just wanted to pinch his cheeks!ย โI wouldnโt say I usually buy this stuff either. This was probably one of the most awkward and embarrassing conversations Loren had ever had. It wasnโt that he really minded talking about sex. But usually those conversations were reserved for close friends, not complete strangers. โYeah, thatโs true. Wouldnโt want someone to end up getting bittenโ he mused. A shy smile still playing at his lips as he listened to her explain her knowledge. โIt definitely can be fun to spice things up sometimes and youโre right, they do taste like deathโ he chuckled. โI appreciate the help though, please let youโre friend know that if this all goes wrong, Iโm coming for themโ he teased. The tone in his voice letting her know that he wasnโt being serious aboutย coming after her friend at all.

But the words he said shocked him. โI feel the same wayโ he said honestly. โI just donโt want to keep pushing you. Especially after the other night. I just... I miss you.โ

โi donโt feel pushed. I just feel lost.โ He said inhaling sharply. โShea and I kissed.โ He said out loud. โAnd I want you to know that because Iโd rather you find out through me than someone else.โ

Hearing his words made his heart sink. Even though he had half expect it, it hurt a lot worse than he thought it would. โOkay...โ he forced out before standing up again. โIs that all?โ

โno! No.โ He said to him, looking up. โIt happened really fast Loren. I didnโt really see it coming.โ He told him truthfully. โBut I have liked him and I would lie if I said I didnโt like it? But it was just that: a kiss. We havenโt done that or anything else since then.โ He shrugged.

Loren just stared at him. He really didnโt know what to say or how to feel. He pressed his lips together and shifted his eyes away for a moment to try and gather his thoughts. โI donโt know what you want me to say, Jace. That itโs okay? Cause it doesnโt feel okay at all.โ

โI never thought youโd be okay with it.โ He told him truthfully. โI just wanted you to know before finding out some other grimiest way.โ

โWell good, because Iโm notโ he informed. โIs that what you wanted to talk about?โ He was trying so hard to stay calm and not show how upset he was by everything that had gone on. ย But it was hard and he knew Jace could tell he was about to lose it.

โYeah, we kinda just jumped the gun and I was stupid. I thought I wanted... you know what it doesnโt matter what I thought because like I said.. Iโm stupid. Sometimes things happen in life that force you to misread situations. Or maybe I just donโt really know how to be a good friend. I donโt know, Jace. But youโre the one Iโve always been in love with, and Iโm so fucking sorry I took that for granted. Iโm nothing without you.. but you kissed him. You like him, you said so yourself. So now what?โ

โI know what you mean.โ He sighed and then turned to look at him. โI donโt know but I donโt like this. I donโt like being without you.โ He looked up. โI liked us. Loved us. We were gonna be married.โ He nearly sobbed. โI just- Iโm so broken.โ

โI donโt like being without you either, Jace. But I canโt do what you did. I canโt sit on the side line and pretend itโs okay that you might wanna be with him. I told Emily that too, that youโre a lot stronger than me. But you know damn well if youโd drop him Iโd be right here waiting.โ

Loren sat back down onto the bed when Jace rose his voice to him. He hadnโt really been talked to like that.. well, since Dom. It wasnโt that Loren was trying to be harsh. It just hurt him to the core even thinking about Jace being with anyone else. โI mean, he can come for the party of course. But, Iโd rather not think about you two doing it in hereโ he said honestly. It was bad enough he had to think about Emily and Nick in her room. โIโm just ready to settle and when you are let me know.โ

Loren moved closer to Jace as he let out a deep breath. It was obvious that everything that had happened between them since their trip, hurt them both immensely. But Loren was willing to put in the work to get them back to where they needed to be. โI love youโ he said softly as he cupped his hands around Jaceโs face. โAlways, my beautiful boyโ and with those words he leaned in to kiss him soundly.

the minute his lips touched Lorenโs Jace completely crumbled. He was so heartbroken by the fact they had broken up That this was the first time heโd actually released every ounce of pain he had. He was so strong but in this moment, he felt weak. He tried to kiss loren back but barely could as the tears finally broke free from his eyes.

Jace was a lot different than Loren. He would hold in all his hurt until he quite literally couldnโt anymore. But Loren on the other hand would just wild out and take his pain out on everyone around. Seeing Jace break down though, it hurt him too. He pulled him into his arms and just held him. Rocking him back and forth as he kissed his temple. โI know babyโ he said softly. โBut Iโm here and Iโm never going anywhere ever again. I promise.โ

he was used to people leaving. This is what they did. And here loren was about to do that. And what sucked was having to see him. Having to watch him just meters away from him doing something with someone else and trying to play like it wasnโt bothering him. He lied down next to loren, resting his face against his chest, trying k steady his breathing as he gripped on to loren like it was the last time he was going to be able to be held like that.
Loren.
It wasnโt like Loren was out there intentionally seeking to hurt Jace. He honestly felt like he had lost him, and he let his jealous get the better of him. He didnโt want anything like this to ever happen again and he would spend the rest of his life making sure that it didnโt. He kissed the top of Jaces head as he held onto him tightly and he felt his own tears trail down his cheek. It was so hard for him to grasp that he has actually hurt the person he loved this badly. It made him a bit weary about whether or not they would actually be okay. But he loved Jace, and he was willing to do whatever he needed to in order to keep him. โIโm so sorry, baby. Itโs over, itโs all over. Itโs just us. Just like it was always meant to be.โ

โI b-believe you.โ He said softly, still trying to grasp everything that had happened in such a short amount of time. โIโm sorry too.โ He finally breathed out, keeping his eyes shut as he stayed cradled by Loren, trying to wipe his own tears

He wished so much that he could take all the pain away. That none of this had ever happened to them and that they had never broken up. Hell, they didnโt even do that right. โJace...โ he breathed out as he used his thumbs to dry his lovers tears. โMarry me? For real this time. Youโre the only person I want for the rest of my life.โ

"Y-you still want to m-marry me?"
Loren.
โMore than anything in the world.โ

"Okay." he said softly. "Fuck yeah, i'll marry you."
Loren.
He smiled and held Jace closer. โI love you so much. Youโre seriously the love of my life. Ya know that?โ Of course they werenโt going to rush into getting married and they both knew that. But, Jace seriously was the only person he could ever see himself being with for the rest of his life.
