“bits to use in everyday conversations”
if you vote me for president i vow to make everything the ocean again. no more land only ocean. this will solve all of our problems and replace them with new, far more interesting problems
i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
I do this all the time for emphasis lmao
Corn dogs are named for their traditional meat, the unicorn. As unicorns are now extinct, they can only be referred to properly as ‘Corn Dogs and not “Unicorn Dogs” as they were prior to 2009.
This is actually a common misconception! While the Unicorn Dog did exist and was discontinued following the extinction of unicorns in 2009, the Corn Dog is not a rebranding of the Unicorn Dog! The Corn Dog was created in 2003 by James H. Corn, though it remained a relatively unpopular Ohio treat until 2010 when Mr. Corn took the opportunity left by the Unicorn Dog’s exit from the market to take over the niche.
I need fat female characters in tv whose weight is inconsequential. It means nothing to the story.
She's fat and gets the guy and no one bats an eye.
She's fat and the hottest chick in the sorority and that's normal.
She's fat and an actress and she gets good roles.
She's fat and she's funny and she has character depth and growth.
She's fat and the main character and no one mentions her weight once.
I'm fat and my weight doesn't play a part in my day to day conversations, or plans, or friendships. Why can't I have that on tv?
it was my abusive grandmothers 4 year death anniversary the other day and I can never tell people about her dying bcs the reaction I get is of sheer horror but I think it’s the funniest fucking thing in the world lmao
she had alzheimer’s and towards the end was completely non-verbal with no cognitive ability but one day I walked into the room, and she immediately snapped out of a trance like state looked me dead in the eyes and said ‘I know who you are, I’ve never liked you’ and then launched into near enough a stand up routine listing all of the things she’s never liked about me including full blown impersonations of how I talk, behave etc.. until I interjected around the 10 minute mark bcs I felt she started getting sloppy with it and going for cheap shots and a few days later she decided to die with her last words being a fully fledged monologue about how much a disappointment my existence is
so if u think ur someone’s number one hater ur not trying hard enough because that bitch set the bar high if you’re not channelling your last laboured breaths to make sure the world knows who you despise what are you even living for ladies xoxo
I promise you things will get so much better when you start processing people’s behavior as information rather than a verdict on your self-worth. If someone doesn’t text back, suddenly pulls away, whatever it may be, the solution isn’t to put on a tap dance for them and try to regain their approval. It’s not to crash out on them and try to force them to react a certain way. It’s just to take a step back, take a deep breath, and assess what this tells you. What’s this saying about them? What’s this saying about you??
Like people’s actions are data points rather than death sentences. It could even be a data point about you. It could be that you’re not being a great friend, it could be that there’s something you guys miscommunication. Or it could be that they themselves don’t have the means to be consistent, aren’t in the headspace to meet you where you are, whatever. But this is always data rather than a judgment. Even if you’re the problem, behavior can change. Also, in the context of someone pulling back without explaining away, and assuming they didn’t give you a reasonable explanation in the first place, it’s also a data point that they’d react that way rather than communicate. Situations are always very context dependent, but they’re also always data.
Listen it took the help of meds for my brain to accept this and a LOT of therapy but learning this saved my life. You will be so much healthier once you get yourself thinking this way.
can’t believe i have to say this but negligence is abuse. if a child is struggling and there is no action taken to help that child, that is abuse. if a child’s needs are ignored, that is abuse. if children are told to “suck it up” or punished for expressing their needs, that is abuse. if a child is suffering and you don’t care— that is abuse.
it doesn’t matter if it’s purposeful or intentional, neglect is neglect and children, especially young children, need adults to help them thrive.
