I never expected love to be easy or even comforting. Love for me has always been difficult, it strained me mentally. It burnt my bones and ripped away at my skin.

But since i met you, it has been easy.

It’s like it‘s meant to be. The desire i feel is… different, warmer, like getting snuggled. The way you look at me is comforting.

I keep wondering to myself-

What should the first words I speak to you after this long parting be? Should I let you know how much I longed for you every passing second when you weren’t there? How your thought never departed my mind, not for a waking moment? Or should I be content with letting my actions speak for themselves and just melt into your embrace, will that speak to you of my anguish?

I sometimes want you to feel the pain that tears away at my chest when you are far. I want your soul to burn with the desire I feel for you. I can assure you, one drop of this love will set you ablaze.

But agony surrounds my brain at the thought of anything hurting the tiniest piece of you. You stole my heart, right out of my chest and the clarity out of my head. You made me fall head over heels and lose any hope for release, but i don’t want release. I want to be with you, for evermore. I would hand you over my entire existence in a second if you wished it.

The ache follows me like a stalker in the night. I feel helpless. Not just helpless but anchored too. Anchored on the same bed we lay on together. I think about every burning second that i waste. Waste thinking about us tangled in those sheets. I feel your warmth against me, the warmth of a memory. I miss you. I miss your presence. You were once within reaching distance. Now i only feel your absence. Absence makes the heart grow fonder they say. My heart cant grow fonder than it is now. I crave you. My crave met with your distance. Sadness washes over me. I found my peace. I found it somewhere I never looked before. I gave it a chance and found out it’s where I should’ve always looked.

Now that it’s within my grip, I am not planning on letting it go easily.

I do not understand why I cannot find happiness. Have I not been looking hard enough? Or do I choose to turn a blind eye to what serves me good? I, just once in my life want to start and end a day without that feeling of emptiness creeping its way back to my chest, just one day.

I am confused by everything around me. I do not seem to know the direction in which I am headed and that scares me. I keep telling myself to go with the flow but it sucks not having control.

When you surround yourself with people, you dread the thought of being alone. When those people leave you, you find it hard to get accustomed to the loneliness. You do not find it hard because it’s the reality, but because it’s the thought embedded in your head. Let go of that thought and see how easily you will start enjoying your own company.
