august 2004: everything had been going great in life as far as zeke was concerned...or at least as great as it could be going for a college art student. over the summer zeke had been working at the crazy fun park for some extra money to hold him over and put toward his next semester of tuition, but unfortunately due to a freak accident he wouldn't make it to his next year of college. One day while manning the dart booth zeke had been distracted by a pretty face and hadn't seen the sharp stray projectile that was flying in his direction. it planted itself right in his jugular and in a moment of pained shock zeke immediately pulled the dart out which led to him quickly bleeding to death before anyone could help him. now he haunts the abandoned park along with the other unfortunate souls who died there, but at least they make the best they can of it.

Two’s one of the siblings who has an unstoppable fountain of love and affection for his brothers and sisters. It doesn’t really matter what they do. Yes, he will tear into them and tear them apart, judge them like he’s God herself, but that doesn’t mean he’ll stop loving them or look at them any differently, not for any real measure of time, anyway. The same can be said for Eight. She’s feral as fuck, but she belongs. She’s one of them. She’s his baby sister, and, as much as he looks out for her, she looks out for him, too, in her own ways.

“Don’t even think about robbing his house. The last thing we need on top of assault with a deadly weapon is breaking and entering.” Two says pointedly, his perfectly shaped eyebrows raising with the timbre of his voice. “Oh, you’re gonna take care of it, are you?” He asks, and he makes a face that says he doesn’t believe her, not even for a second. “Oh, blondie, you got another thing coming. I don’t... I know I can’t stop you from whatever you think you’re about to do, but I can, at the very least, try to discourage you from it.” He sighs, leaning back, trying his damnedest to crack his back in his wheelie chair. “I strongly encourage you to keep your tiny booty at work and not to stalk the man to try and ‘make this right’.” He uses air quotes to make his point. "But..." he sighs, trailing off, "if you don't get arrested..."

Even as Two is warning her away from breaking and entering it's too late. She had already agreed against the robbery portion, but the latter was a required part of the task she has assigned herself to resolve the situation that she had created. The only way to stop it from going any further was to nip it in the bud which meant getting to the man as quickly as possibly before he had enough time to mentally commit to the idea of suing or getting police involved...though even if he had it isn't as though it would stop her anyhow. In the same manner that Two has apparently come to accept that he couldn't stop her. No one could if she were determined enough.

"And it is an honorable attempt on your part, really. I have taken your suggestions in to consideration." She nods, but they both know she has also chosen to go against those considerations. "but if I stay here at work who is gonna get you a new coffee? and just the way ya like it this time. I'll even go to that one fancy cafe you don't get to go to that often." She pats his shoulder with a wink, aware that his caffeine preference would serve to soften him a bit more when there wasn't much else he could do. It was within her plans to get him one anyway when she overheard his complaints to Four... whom she was lucky was too immersed in a session to form a united front with Two against whatever methods she was thinking of employing. "Contrary to popular belief I can be discreet. No addin' to the record this time, promise. Just some coffee and peace of mind. You need me to pick ya up somethin' to eat too?"

Some of the siblings had been wary about Two and Four hiring Eight on to work at the shop, especially equipped with tools that could potentially cause harm, but Two trusted her. She was his sister, after all, and he believed that she wouldn’t do anything to intentionally jeopardize what they had going on, especially not since the shop was so important and influential in cleaning so much of the money they brought through. Who could prove whether or not they had done a 1200$ tattoo? No one, not really.

Today, though, well, it’s one of those days, isn’t it? Bitterly cold but you can’t tell from looking at the sky, the bright sun in the cloudless blue atmosphere belies the frigidity that sets into the bones the second you walk outside. His coffee is made wrong and he hasn’t got the time to fix it, his DoorDash never shows up, the playlist keeps playing songs he doesn’t particularly like, and one of his clients doesn’t even show up. Then... there’s Eight to contend with. Eight and her brand of justice in the form of staplers and ball sacks. “What am I going to do with you?” He asks, blinking incredulously at her from the doorway, shaking his head. There’s so much shit he’s got to worry about now. “I have to call the lawyers, and we’ll probably have to pay for his tetanus shot or whatever else... you better go rob his house or something.” He stops then, holds up both hands. “Don’t fucking do that, please, I was joking.”

Eight sighs, her self-righteous demeanor in the way she felt justified for her actions fading just slightly. She never really cared about too much, but at the end of the day she didn't much like disappointing her older brothers. Though it all depended on the day, truly. Her lips purse at the question. One that all the devlins have asked on multiple occassions. What could you do with someone like her that could be unhinged at even the best of times, but Eight enjoyed being at the shop and didn't want to sully her place there. She could make it right she thought and his next words draw her in to a smirk.

"Bet if I did rob his house he wouldn't be able to prove it was me, but I won't... but payin' him a little visit could help." Especially when they already had his name and payment information on file. He would be easy to find and she could ensure that he wouldn't try to continue any talk of pursuing legal demands or even leave them a bad review. "Don't go callin' just yet, okay. I think I can smooth this over." Though she wouldn't be keen on explaining how she thinks she will go about doing so. Certainly not in a manner that Two would approve of and Eight had learned by now that the less he knew the better. "Won't even get arrested this time, how's that sound?"

"Yeah, I still made him pay me too. He wanted a piercing and technically he still got one, didn't he?" Though said 'piercing' ended up being a staple (or a few, but eight hadn't counted) to the testicle which wasn't exactly the man's request. It isn't like Eight to jeopardize business at the shop usually. A position she actually took quite seriously since her older siblings welcomed her to participate. She understood the difference in the semblance of professionality that was required and did her best to control her violent impulses unless absolutely necessary while on the clock. Besides, Two, Four, and Six maintained a relatively peaceful environment which made it easy to go with the flow much of the time, but that didn't mean a customer wouldn't ruin the ambiance and provoke a reaction from her. "He deserved it. Actin like a bigger dick than the one he had since he walked in. Then bein' gross like he was. Shouldn't have joked bout wantin' a genital piercing from me in the way he did 'else maybe I wouldn'ta had the idea. Did he tell ya that?" The blonde explains looking up at her brother without much remorse for her actions other than giving her siblings another headache.

taking a bag of coins from her hip, eivor makes a display of handing it over to the person in charge of the stall helena is perusing. the items are nicer here, more expensive. “have whatever you like. that would look lovely on you.” she says, pointing to the fallen broach, not realizing that it had been intended for someone else. the shield maiden’s face is split in two by a lupine grin as she looms in closer. the customs and cultures vary vastly and where the brunette is shy and reserved, it takes a lot for eivor to feel shame.

eivor’s head cocks to the side, curious like a puppy hearing a sharp whistle or the rustle of something in the trees. her smile doesn’t quit though and she picks up a necklace, a string of pearls. holding it up to the light to examine it, the blonde hums then holds it up to helena’s neck. she can see the woman’s heart beating so wildly beneath paper-thin milk white skin, and she smiles softly to herself, dragging her gaze back upward. “you ladies are so... i do not know if i have the world.” she says, scrunching up her face in thought. “why do such things worry you? we are a community. you are a woman, and i would like to know you.” is that excuse enough? the women in her community socialize among one another and surely a woman of helena’s status would be allowed to speak to her were they back in eivor’s country. but maybe she’s biased by her curiosity and desire? “my husband says we will be here through the winter. so i should be making friends. learning the ways.” the truth is, eivor has no intention of learning how to blend into this society, but it’s as good an in as she can think of. how can lady darby deny her?

when eivor makes a show of handing off a bag of coin to the stall keep as she moved in closer, helena felt her cheeks begin to warm. she's well aware this isn't concered the natural effect that being in the presence of another woman should have over her, but she simply couldn't help it. the strength of the other spoke to her in a way she couldn't quite explain and it was...thrilling. sure, helena has had her heart flutter in the past over another lady, but this felt more intense. perhaps as intense as eivor's gaze upon her. "you are most generous and kind my lady, but the broach was not for myself."

there's a bit of surprise in her eyes when the blonde compares the pearls against her complexion and part of her was tempted to preen with delight. the corners of her lips quick upward, but she glances away from the other as if to examine something else on the table...though in truth it was more so because she wasn't sure how to keep from melting in eivor's brilliant blues when it was voiced that the warrior's would like to know her. helena would love nothing more. "in this place, status is considered of utmost importance. i could not dare to initiate a conversation with someone of such high ranking without proper invitation to do so. for a queen to be spoken to freely by someone without express permission to speak would be considered quite disrespectful and she would most assuredly never move amongst those whom are considered common people." her tone is soft as she explains a bit about the hierarchy of things, not wanting to offend the stall keep or anyone else around them who held no status. just because helena was deemed a lady didn't mean she saw herself as better, but it's just the way things were. "it is a great honor to be in your company and even more so to be in your consideration of friendship."
