@lostmylenscap
Went on my first hike in months and ended up taking a couple pictures that were ok but then I got home and got some really nice shots of the hummingbirds that hang out near our apartment
13/52 Hike Challenge: Tolmie Peak Trail
SO MANY MOSQUITOES. I didn’t have bug spray and now look like I have the pox I’m so covered in bites. So yeah, bring bug spray because it’s beautiful and you’ll want to be able to stop and appreciate it without being exsanguinated
12/52 Hike Challenge: Frozen Lake Trail, Mt Rainier National Park
Bit of a short trail, and Frozan “Lake” looks kinda like a puddle at the end, but the view all along the trail was lovely
11/52 Hike Challenge: 07/02/19 Harry’s Ridge
It was overcast and misting rain most of the hike but it was still gorgeous even with basically the entire view of Mt St Helens obscured by fog so I imagine on a clear day it’s stunning.
The wild flowers are blooming all across the trail and there were chipmunks and humming birds sipping and scurrying around the whole path around the mountain
Hike 10/52 Hike Challenge (I know. I’m very behind, but winter sucks when you don’t have 4WD)
Mt St Helens - Memorial Day Weekend
Hiked along Hummocks Trail with the boyfriend for Memorial Day. It was a pleasant, easy hike with gorgeous scenery.
Today the beast climbed a tree in pursuit of a raven. She got to a point where she couldn’t keep going and it flew to our roof and yelled at her while she looked around trying to figure out how to get to it.
Then she looked down at me, figured out how to turn back around, and came back down the tree like a good girl.
Unfortunately I think that she might sully any possibility of me befriending the ravens with snacks so that they like me, since I’ll be guilty by association with the cat...
Skagit Tulip Festival!
This was my first visit to a flower farm like this, I love all the colors and textures
I had never seen so many different tulips before it was beautiful.
9/52 Hike Challenge: Shi Shi Beach Trail
I Love the ocean. I love the way it smells, I love the sea spray. It just feels good.
The weather was beautiful. Although the forest trail leading to the coast was extremely muddy and did require you to make your own path around the mud a few times it was really lovely. There was a cool boardwalk through a lot of it. I saw a lot of birds...but I had my landscape lens on so didn’t really get any shots of them :(
Behold!
The Beast!
This is mesmerizing to watch.
actually physically painful to watch because you know months were spent masking all those frames for each of the kajillions of transitions in this
Holy………..shmokes…….
IT’S BACK
Woah
8/52 Hike Challenge: Kendall Peak Trail
Fiiiinally pleased with some of my work!
We only hiked out to the first lookout area so it was only about a 7 mile hike instead of the total 14 that it could’ve been but it was really fun. The trail is pretty packed down so snowshoes weren’t necessary but it looked like it would be fun to snowboard down.
We also found a cool snow tunnel dug into a drift. It had two whole rooms dug out which was pretty awesome.
52 Hike Challenge Update
Still in a bit of a photographic rut unfortunately...just not satasfied with my work lately so still no pictures
Feb 26, 2019: Rattlesnake Ledge
It was COLD. Biting wind. We could only stand at the top for like 5 minutes before I had stabbing pain in my hands from the cold but it was just gorgeous. A bluebird day
March 4, 2019: Bowman Bay via Rosario Trailhead
Loved this hike! Will be doing it again. Beautiful views of the Puget Sound with fun rock ledges to sit on. However. The island loop we were showed on AllTrails is (or should be) discontinued. Completely unkept. There’s a shorter trail that cuts through and I was like “Nah! I bet it’s pretty let’s go the long way.”
Nope. Bad Idea. Kept getting lost and turned around because the trail is basically non existent now and we ended up just stumbling through the woods to find our way back to the end point of the trail...had to climb up and down fairly sheer cliffs. Do not recommend unless that’s what you feel like doing that day haha.
Eli lost her first baby tooth last night!
In boyfriends arm whilst savagely biting him during playtime
It was very fitting I think
5/52 Hike Challenge:
Chirico Trail up to Poo Poo point
It was a good hike, and I’m very inspired to go paragliding now, but I’m not satisfied enough with any of the pictures I got to post one
Anna’s Hummingbird
The polar vortex spilling over on Seattle gave us some rare heaps of snow, and interesting opportunities to capture wildlife that you normally don’t encounter in frigid weather in some snowy surroundings.
4/52 Hike Challenge: Boulder River Trail
Did this one last week; Jan 29, 2019
I love how clear and pale blue the water in the river was
