Zuhair Murad Resort 2020 Collection
You know what? I’d love to read a scifi novel about a bunch of adventurers leaving earth to find other stars in the present and when they come back thousands of years have past even though for them it seemed like 10 years.
ronan, a three year old baby: come play games with me
declan, a five year old adult: Selfish of you. While you’re gallivanting I’ll be managing father’s tax evasion scheme, pretending that cleaning up dream-object messes is just pick-up sticks with mother, and staying conscious and alert twenty-four-seven to make sure you don’t manifest a wendigo in the house because of a bedtime story you read.
ronan: boring. bird time
tumblr just recommended this post to me and i don’t know why it feels I need this 100% factual description of the Declan short story I wrote over Christmas
40 pages into stephen hawking’s last book and he’s already made fun of brexit twice
The books i got for christmas really indicate the type of person i am. A gay dramaric space nerd.
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart My rating: 3 of 5 stars We were liars is the kind of book that’s only worth reading because of the ending. Going into this book I had high expectations, but still expected to be disappointed. If nothing completely mind-blowing would happen I would happen I would tear the book to shreds. Luckily, that did happen. The plot-twist at the end made me recall several details from the rest of the book, which makes you feel like you just read a masterpiece, even though while reading it, it wasn’t that enjoyable at all. I personally didn’t like the characters (except Johnny), execution of messages, or romance, but I didn’t really expect to either. I picked it up as a light summer read and that’s what I got, even though the author tries to pretend that it isn’t by incorporating blatant and cliché messages and a special writing style. I’m not really a fan of the style, especially not because she emphasized that the style was different and unique on the first page of the book by literally saying that it was, still I do think that it wasn’t a deal breaker and some people might really enjoy it. I’m happy that I read it, but I don’t think it deserves the hype that it got initially. View all my reviews
When did you lost your virginity?
lady bracknell, i admit with shame that I do not know. i only wish i did. the plain facts of the case are these: on the morning of the day you mention, a day that is for ever branded on my memory, i prepared as usual to take my virginity out in its perambulator. i had also with me a somewhat old, but capacious hand-bag in which i had intended to place the manuscript of a work of fiction that i had written during my few unoccupied hours. in a moment of mental abstraction, for which i never can forgive myself, i deposited the manuscript in the basinette, and placed the virginity in the hand-bag. and i left it, god forgive me, in the cloakroom of one of the larger railway stations in london. victoria.. the brighton line. i lived for that regret ever since. i would never forgive myself.
This may be the best response to this question I have ever witnessed. I feel like Oscar Wilde would appreciate his works being used in this hilarious manner.

”she’s just sour because she lost nine goals in forty-five minutes. don’t know why, not like it’s a new personal record or - ohhh, it is. ouch, that’s gotta sting a bit.”
being nice and being kind are two different concepts i think ‘niceness’ to me is very performative and feels like a way to keep ppl in their place and following shitty cultural norms aka ‘he likes u just be nice to him give him a chance!’ whereas kindness is rooted in empathy and respect for ur fellow human it requires action kindness and justice are linked.
Honestly, I don’t really know what to say about this book… But it most definitely won’t be nice.
I first read The Catcher in the Rye in high school. However, that being close to a decade ago, I had almost completely forgotten what it was about. The novel is considered extremely popular, so I was slightly eager to read it once again. Therefore, when a member of the online book club I’m a part of (The Reading Frenzy) suggested I read it, I was glad to.
That eagerness quickly ceased after only a couple of pages. I began to recall some aspects of the book, mainly the narrator, that really irked me when I first read it. Mainly, I can’t stand the main character, Holden. I fully understand that he suffers from mental illnesses, but his personality, and the excruciating way he talks, gets on my nerves. He repeats everything, like a goddam hundred times. Hell, it damn near killed me and all. Plus, he feels sorry for anyone and everyone cause they’re goddam phonies and all and don’t even know it.
See what I did there? If not, just read a few pages, you’ll understand in less than five minutes. Honestly, every time he said the words “goddam” and “phony” I wanted to karate chop him in the neck. Furthermore, to me at least, I found the story a bit pointless. Holden seemed to start to do something only to quit it soon after. Granted, there were some funny moments, but they were grossly overshadowed by Holden’s dark thoughts that were usually suicidal and sometimes even murder-y. Which reminds me of the main reason I dislike The Catcher in the Rye: the fact that it played a role in the murder of John Lennon. That is simply unforgivable!

Eliza and her monsters
2 stars
Eliza and her monsters is a story about a girl who writes and draws an incredibly popular web comic. The problem is, however, that she has severe anxiety and therefore she’s afraid to tell people that she’s the creator of the comic. Most people who’ve spoken about this book have been very positive about it. Though I agree with many of the things that have been said, I feel like I’m alone in my opinion in many other areas. So I want to share my point of view on this book. When I first heard the premise I was intrigued. It sounds like everyone who creates some form of art’s dream. To lead a double-life. Unpopular at school, but famous online.
