hello my fellow tumblings, it has been A While! i said i'd post more upon finishing my exams (which ended a long time ago thankfully) but apparently i was lying back then because all my art motivation died as soon as i actually had the time to pursue half the ideas i had B] anyway, ive been hyperfixating on PHM recently, and i got a drawing itch! this wasn't originally meant to be a PHM post and it still kind of isn't but i wanted to fill the big space in between the ouroboros(? snake, i guess) and was like. Just watched Adam Conover (of Adam Ruins Everything) make such a solid point that I think we should spread far and wide. Yes, having AI write your emails is lazy, sure, but people love being lazy. We need to really emphasize that sending AI emails (or using AI responses on social media, or publishing AI flyers, or or or) is rude.

It's rude. You're making someone take their time to read something you couldn't bother to write. You're telling them they were so unimportant you couldn't be bothered to actually take the time to say something yourself. And frankly, you're lying about it while you're at it.

hello!! i return, i guess! my exams ended on the 23rd, i just haven't posted anything yet because for all my drawing ideas i have no motivation to actually draw anything properly 😭 i just open krita and end up doing something else, one way or another... any suggestions of things i could try drawing or how to Not Get Distracted i guess would help

happy to say: i figured it out i was overthinking, i just had to do what i do best, just start with a circle and some shapes on an empty page

it's dawning on me i was gonna colour this... hmmm i'll do that still, but, doodle page! close ups will come when i finish colouring 'em all

coloured them all :3 this was very fun, i love my stupid creatures. the "coquette bow" as my friends are calling it came to us after i asked for stuff to draw, and one of them said "bow" and i was like "the ribbon kind of bow or the shoot people kind?" so she obviously (/j) went "both". and now here we are LOL yap under the cut!

one of noodles wings i forgot to colour the golden part of, but it's too late to fix it, and i don't particularly care. i had a lot of fun making this!! i love my creatures

i might make Scum an actual character.. i've come to like him more than i realized, i think i kind of cooked with his design and colours. can we tell i love asymmetry? he's also SO shapely. so lank. so slinky. im very proud of him. so far all i have in terms of lore(?) on him is that he's a thief LOL, like a fucked up raccoon or 'sum also, cat in the top left corner is one of my ocs! her name is Murphy, and she was supposed to be my fursona... but i think i'm gonna rework her as an oc instead and make a new fursona. i love her though, her design is simple but i think it's nice

I am so tired of short-attention-span, trim-the-fat culture. All writing advice these days is for how to write like Chuck Palahniuk. "Cut 'think', cut 'feel', cut 'wonder' - only action, only pushing forward, show and move and move and move." What if I could emulate this style, and still don't want to? What if I want to write like Henry James, with three paragraphs of introspective musings between each dialogue line? The music advice is, "make it shortform, make it Tik-Tok compatible, make it punchy, hit the refrain as soon as possible." What if I want that 10-minute prog rock piece? What if I want that symphony? What if I want it slow and luxurious and lazy? Movies. Series. Poetry. Bodies. Everything is "trimmed trimmed trimmed trimmed, stripped bare, you have three seconds to win me over, make it airport chic." I don't want to win you over, then, I guess. I want the fat left it. I want the pleasure and the indolence and the indulgence. Fuck this art-advice that's always "your art needs Ozempic."
