I am an insomniac at heart.

Or is it in the mind?

Hopefully

I get a new start, hopefully things get good .

Hopefully my mind won't continue to be so loud.

Hopefully I'll no longer be so misunderstood.

Hopefully I can make them all proud

Crowded rooms

I still feel alone in crowded rooms

Without you by my side.

I wonder if this is how Jupiter feels with it's many moons,

Like your being pulled under by a tide.

My butterscotch kisses

You said my kisses were like butterscotch.

So I gave them all to you,

Hoping to keep your love,

But alas' it was all in vain

Your lemon drop kisses

You gave me all your lemon drop kisses,

So bitter that my lips puckered.

You gave me lemon drop lies

Disguised with a sweet glaze

Seasons

You were all my summer days,

Basking in the sun,

You were all my winter nights

Cuddled up by the fire.

You were all my seasons,

But then you left without any reasons.

Weather

If people were weather,

You'd be a calm, lulling rain.

Singing me a lullaby.

And I'd be a blizzard,

Messy and all over the place,

Something people want to avoid.

Circles

It feels like I'm running in a circle,

Trying to find myself in this endless maze.

I'm starting to think the run is eternal.

Nonetheless, I'll continue to run in a daze.

I wonder if I ever cross your mind

Because you always cross mine.

When I'm stuck in my mind, your the one I find,

And if I don't cross your mind, I guess that's fine.

Drowning

You don't have to be in water to drown,

You can drown in your mind,

You can drown in a feeling,

You can drown in eyes,

I think you could drown in anything.

Predictable

My life is predictable, it's the same thing every day,

I am in desperate need for a change in scenery.

I'm getting tired of living in this dull shade of gray.

Lost among the stars

I got lost among the stars with you.

We got lost in a sky the deepest blue.

We were lost in the richest hue.

You and I were an inseparable crew

I'm still lost among the stars, but now without you,

Whatever happend to our inseparable crew of two?

Birthday

One year older; closer to death

One years worth of wasted breath

Insomnia

I can't sleep at night,

Cuz' it's loud in my mind.

I toss from left to right,

Knowing sleep is something I'll never find

“I’m Okay”

So many people cover up, saying they’re okay,

Hiding behind a fake smile.

Sometimes it’s because they don’t know what else to say.

And sometimes it’s just what they’ve done for awhile

Lies

I wish I would've seen through your disguise.

I wish I'd captured all your lies,

You tried to kiss them away

To keep all my fears at bay.

But I tasted the bitterness on your lips,

Tasting of lemon and over-salted chips
