Or, conversely, how about this: don’t add an unnecessary comment to a post you about a subject you clearly have no experience with. 

Really, that comment isn’t necessary. Clearly this doesn’t seem to relate to you so idk why you feel the need to add that comment. 

The fact that this post has so many notes with people saying “same,” “this relates to me,” etc, means this is something so many people deal with on a daily basis. 

How can I not  worry about what my race is when the whole world loves reminding me left and right of my status in it? When my race will literally affect everything you would probably define as “important things,” like how I and many other mixed race people want to do with our fucking lives.

True story, yesterday had to get my blood drawn for pregnancy related things and trying to explain to this nurse that I’m biracial and not just ‘Western European’ was a little awkward. It’s not incorrect, technically I am half white Western European but I’m also American Black...which isn’t on the list at all. 

I ended up being ‘other’.
