Clue the movie is a comedy masterpiece
ah yes, cinematic parallels
“I don’t think her talent needs description. It’s obvious. She has a very good sense of herself as a performer, and I enjoyed working with her very much. She’s also very pretty.”

mcu missed opportunities that i can't stop thinking about now
i love the mcu. this is literally just a list of things that i would have loved to see:
1. raft prison easter egg
in civil war we're introduced to the raft prison which is a concept from the comics. i'm not a comics reader so i don't know the actually comics lore behind it, but i wish that they had introduced the raft from the very beginning and made it a thing throughout more mcu movies.
like you stop over at the collector's to drop off your infinity stones and then your prisoners at the raft. i think it would be a cute easter egg instead of just a mention in one movie and then it could lead to some suicide squad-style shenanigans.
2. nat and bucky
again, not a comics reader, but i am aware that they're a couple in the comics. even if they didn't get together in the mcu, i wish we would have seen bucky and nat interact more than just in fight scenes. i feel like they could have had some interesting character beats, you know, bonding about their trauma and all that. also, the fact we never saw them fight together? crime. i'll always be angry.
3. nomad steve
nomad steve was lowkey one of my favorite parts of infinity war so the idea of having a whole movie of nomad steve on the run with bucky, sam, and nat sounds like a dream to me.
4. more wanda and vis
wandavision proved that we were robbed of seeing an amazing interpretation of an iconic couple. like the fact we didn't see them be a couple for more than just a couple of minutes in infinity war is so upsetting.
5. sam, bucky, and the riley connection
going into fatws, we barely knew anything about sam. one of these few things we did know though was that he left active military service after his wing-man, riley, died in combat. sounds familiar doesn't it?
sam and steve literally bond over the fact they both lost their best friends on a mission. so the fact we didn't see any mention of this in fatws was very weird. i have a sneaking suspicion that this one was entirely on purpose to save it for the upcoming cap 4 movie, but it was just so fkn weird that they never even discussed this??
like am i just expected to forget that? like it would have been such an interesting character beat for sam and bucky. idk call me crazy
Alternate universe where I literally just to go to school forever (for free) so I can just learn about art and literature and history and languages for 100 years. No job skills. No credit requirements. No student loans. Just learning.
no offense but the soft uncertain kiss followed by a pause where the people look each other in the eyes and then fucking pull eachother back into a more passionate kiss will always be the most soul destroying trope , catch me lying on the fucking ground sobbing and rewatching The Scene™✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

i just want to move in with someone in a tiny cosy apartment and drink coffee and smoke cigarettes together, read books all day and do stuff by myself and at the end of the day just cuddle together under the covers and watch silly tv shows and tell eachother everything and laugh and kiss is that just too much too ask for
like, the most compelling ships for me always stem out of one thing: the characters have a profound, ongoing effect on each other’s senses of selves. when they are apart, the characters’ actions are still affected by each other. the way they approach the world changes because of the other.
which is this deeply Austenian view of ideal romantic relationships as mechanisms by which we come to know ourselves better and become better versions of ourselves. good romance, for me, is always tied in with a sense of self-actualization, and the way in which a beloved partner allows a person to know themselves better.
