Y'all I get people have a lot of big feelings about the finale but PLEASE DO NOT PULL A BBC SHERLOCK HERE. There is no secret extra episode.
we are now already in google doc conspiracy theory territory. these bitches really speed running this thing š
they are coping really well I feel š
wait I'm so confused. maybe I forgot something, but what did Kali do that requires redemption?
she came across as a very sympathetic character to me. I thought that her saying she and El can't have a happy ending meant that the show would end up subverting that painful, doomed mentality.
Kali is not villainous for being suicidal after watching all her friends die, being used as a blood bank, and seeing women be strapped down, poisoned with her blood, and impregnated in a government experiment to create more human weapons like her and El. what?? she tried to escape, she tried to create a family, she tried to fight back, only to end up right where she started. of course she thinks the only way out is through death! I highly, highly doubt the show will end with suicide being the only solution, especially with how it's been combatting Hopper's sacrificial tendencies
Holly in episode 7 after waking up back in in Mr. Whatsit's house with the other kids.
before Vol. 2 of Stranger Things come out I gotta say, Jonathan Byers deserves so much better.
I love him and heās honestly one of my fave characters to come out of the series and I hate how heās overlooked
Like, that boy is so special to me because like- heās been taking care of Will and helping in the house since he was a child himself.
Everytime I rewatch s1 I want to SCREAM because, the way Charlie portrayed Jonathanās body language is so good, heās constantly trying to hide, to make himself smaller, the scene where Joyce is asking him where Will is and is saying āyou know you have to wake him!ā The way Jonathan so defeatedly and gently tried to justify like āI was making breakfastā you know- the 16 year old who is just trying to make sure his brother and mom have a proper breakfast and then when he reveals he took an extra shift and Joyce tells him āI just canāt believe you sometimesā like heās some kind of problem child instead of a baby trying to help with the bills- I love Joyce but JAILTIME
Like the entirety of that season- that sixteen year old boy PLANNED and probably had to pay for his baby brotherās funeral whilst trying to cope both with the grief of losing his brother and the fear that his mom was losing her mind!!!! The scene of him crying with his headphones on because he has no one in that moment- gagged
And Will is literally his baby, Jonathan is both his big brother and a father figure to Will, he makes him mixtapes and tries to make sure he doesnāt hear when their parents are fighting and- between the fact that he knew how to fight Steve and the way Lonnie told him āyou got strongerā when he managed to shove him off of him, letās face it, he probably made himself a human shield to make sure Lonnie didnāt hurt Will and- probably also Joyce cause thatās who Jonathan is
And the saddest part is, come s3 and s4, you kinda realize that- I mean, the convo with Argyle about how he doesnāt want to hold Nancy back kinda fully made me realize that- Jonathan has never been anyoneās first choice, he canāt believe that heād be Nancyās probably canāt believe that he has been for years at this point
And heās always doing what he thinks is best for his family, letās put aside the fact that he was willing to give up Emerson, NYU was never even MENTIONED in s4, when we know that apparently that has been his dream school since he was six. Where was that dream? Oh right- DISCARDED BECAUSE JONATHAN IS A SELFLESS SWEETHEART WHO WILL ALWAYS PUT TAKING CARE OF HIS FAMILY ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE EVEN HIS DREAMS AND HAPPINESS
I just- ugh I love him.
And it doesnāt surprise me that he would show himself to feel insecure in s5. Again, heās never felt like anyoneās first choice, like- that scene where Joyce is like āoh itās too dangerous Will you could die! Jonathan you go insteadā again i love her, but JAILTIME
the engagement thing, I do believe he would genuienly want to propose to Nancy, though I do think that was accelerated due to circumstances and feeling like the world is ending, also low-key feel like he might want to know for sure that for once, for ONCE he was still someoneās first choice. Is that the best reason to propose? No. But heās a traumatized nineteen year old, I can kinda let that slide
Also, i fucking love Nancy and Jonathan together, they make so much sense, Jonathan understands her and supports her no matter what, heās the pillar and rock Nancy needs to be able to get out there and to her thing and Nancy sees who Jonathan is, his passion and dedication and how much he loves, and she chooses him every time.
Not even joking, their first kiss in s2 is to this day prob my fave kissing scene of all time, it was so freaking good
But yeah, I just wanted to get that out cause i am kinda tweaking right now cause Iām actually worried theyāre going to kill him off and if that happens without any resolution to his character and allowing him to finally choose something for himself and put himself first and go after what will make him happy (be it NYU or Nancy) I WILL FUCKING CRASH OUT
No joke, I think his death would be the one that would hit me hardest out of the main cast, I love him so much
Thinking about it and like, the deaths that would hurt me the most would be; Jonathan (who Iām so scared for), Lucas (who Iām pretty sure is safe) Nancy (I will riot) and Robin (I will crash out)
And this isnāt anti-Steve at all, I love his character and his development, and his story, btu I feel that low-key a lot of his fanon headcannons give him a lot of traits that Jonathan already has, which is weird to me (being ignored by parents, stuff like that)
I still love him but Iād much rather they focused on his relationship with Dustin and deciding what he wants to do with himself instead of dragging out the triangle that is not even a triangle (because Nancy chose Jonathan years ago) and his weird competition with Jonathan cause those two couldāve had such a cool friendship and dynamic instead
Anyway, just wanted to rant about Jonathan
Iām actually working on a Jonathan-centric fic. No upside down au focused on photography. Basically instead of Will going missing, what changes his life (for the better) is entering a photography contest that somehow winds up with him becoming friends with Nancy, Eddie Chrissy and Steve and just stuff like that, pretty wholesome, who knows when Iāll post it.
Also, completely out of left field but working on that ^ made me realize that low-key Chrissy and Jonathan (especially from s1 and s2) are the same person in different fonts
but thatās a rant for another day
anyway, catch me in my prayer circle for Jonathan to live
So, I am still thinking about Ace Attorney. More specifically, I'm thinking about the Gavin brothers. Even more specifically, I'm thinking about Klavier, and how the fact that Klavier has a copaganda rock band is a frequent joke in the fandom, which is fair, because it's fucking hilarious. Seriously, it is so antithetical to rock as a genre, it's so ridiculous, it really is SUCH a classic Ace Attorney move. But, I've been doing a lot of thinking about Klavier recently, I've been working a lot on constructing my personal backstory for the Gavin brothers, and... I think it would be interesting if there was more backstory to this decision then Klavier simply going "yeah let's take this historically relatively antiauthoritarian genre and stuff it full of cops." Because while that IS hilarious, there's something else that I think is interesting to examine in conjunction to Klavier's copaganda rock band. And that, naturally, is Kristoph. Specifically, it's Kristoph's words in that final trial.
See, when Kristoph is trying to undermine Klavier and get him to shut up, he makes several comments warning Klavier about "spinning out of control" and then saying something he'd later regret, and losing what he's worked for. These comments are fascinating on their own, of course, but I was thinking about them in relation to the Gavinners and had a bit of a "aha!" moment.
See, the implication there is of course that by losing control, Klavier would lose what he's worked for. This makes sense, to an extent, regarding his prosecutor careerāhaving a criminal brother definitely doesn't look good for Klavier. Being unknowingly complicit in someone scheming to get Phoenix disbarred in his first trial looks even worse. But... Kristoph is already a convicted murderer at this point. Sure, it coming out that Klavier got played in that first trial would make things worse, but Klavier was, technically, never wrong. Phoenix did present forged evidence! It was the Bar Association that should've looked more into how Phoenix got the evidence and how Klavier knew. So, while that information coming out definitely wasnāt GOOD for Klavier or his career, I don't think it was overly detrimental either.
But you know what "Klavier got unknowingly played into using the legal system to disbar an honest(ish mostly) attorney" DOES look bad for? His MUSIC career, where he built his entire reputation based off taking a typically antiauthoritarian genre, and exploring it through a copaganda, the legal system is great, lens. His entire music career is about gassing up the law. Having the news break that Klavier was (unknowingly) part of a scheme to USE the law to ruin an innocent man's life really effectively would undermine his whole music career!
So... what if Kristoph's comment was more about Klavier's music career than his legal career? What would it change? Well, it means that Kristoph has at least a vague understanding of the fact that Klavier's music plays with genre conventions, and therefore is more vulnerable because of it. It means that Kristoph gets that the appearance of the law and legal system WORKING is important to Klavier's career, important enough that Kristoph thinks that implying that this line of questioning would break that appearance would be enough to shut Klavier up.
But why would Kristoph INCORRECTLY think that Klavier would value maintaining his own career over finding the truth?
Well, first and foremost, I think he'd assume that because that's what KRISTOPH HIMSELF would value most. Secondly, I think it's because, 7 years ago, Klavier did, to an extent, make that decision! He chose to focus on his music instead of poking further into his suspicions regarding Kristoph, Phoenix, and the disbarment. So if Kristoph thought that Klavier hadn't changed at all, it would make sense that he incorrectly assumed Klavier would do the same thing here.
But finally, I think Kristoph assumed this would work, because I think that Kristoph DRAMATICALLY misunderstood an interaction that I headcanon he had with Klavier, years and years ago, back when Klavier started considering becoming a rockstar.
So, let's talk about that interaction.
(Headcanon land is below the cut! Warning for extensive discussion of abusive family dynamics, callous discussion of suicide & drug use, and victim blaming)
that fanbaseās ability to bend the narrative and selectively remember scenes while ignoring 90% of context just to justify conradās behaviour will never not make me laugh. āwhy are they so mean to himā āno one comforted himā ājeremiah is the villainā mind you, conrad ruined EVERYTHING, said himself he ruined everything ONSCREEN, and is suffering the direct consequences of his own actions, and theyāve still managed to ignore 99% of context to make him the victim. iāve never seen such shameless delusion, denial, and misogyny like this before in fandom.
now theyāre saying itās bad mental health representation because conrad did it ābecause of depressionā and itās not fair to him to blame him for that. quick question guys - have you ever intentionally sabotaged your younger brotherās life and admitted to wanting to break him and praying for his downfall because of depression? because i certainly havenāt! āmental healthā doesnāt mean you canāt be held accountable for your harmful actions. conrad blew up jeremiahās engagement and everything he had in a day, admitted it to adam, and somehow .. CONRAD is the victim here???? meanwhile when you bring up bellyās mental health and grief or jeremiahās mental health and grief itās ⦠crickets. yeah, thatās what i thought.
i just have to laugh yāall i just have to laugh.
What's killing me is them wondering why Steven is being so cold to Conrad. The show literally says that Conrad closed off on everyone for the past 4 years and they're blaming everyone else for how distant they are from him. And apparently it's cute because it's all because he loves belly.
Seriously! They constantly disregard everyone else's feelings other than Conrad's. Steven has a right to be upset because this person who he thought was his close friend completely ghosts him for FOUR YEARS. Then he comes back into your life abruptly and ruins the wedding of your little sister and your best friend who are both absolutely devastated. Meanwhile, said former friend is trying to weasel his way back into your life as if nothing has changed and four years of low to no contact didn't go by.
Also, Steven doesn't have a right to judge anyone about cheating so what right would he have to seriously go after Jeremiah. And if Belly chose to forgive him, she chose to forgive him: as her older brother, Steven should respect her agency enough to respect her decision.
The delusion in this post is baffling to me, like how can one person be this deluded. He literally admitted he wanted Jeremiah to hurt and prayed for it in this same exact scene. AND he canāt do anything because HE is the one who caused his hurt?? Iām?? Theyāre just flipping shit and saying Jere is causing him pain? HOW?? Wat is wrong with people?!
āBelly is the problem, team anti-bellyā BLAH BLAH. No. Belly made some mistakes. Sheās just not a perfect Mary Sue self insert that yāall want her to be. Sheās human just like anyone else in the show. Yāallās precious Connie baby is the problem. But anything to not blame your white boy of the month huh. Letās blame the girl when zero issues would happen if Conrad just didnāt thirst after his brotherās fiancĆ©e. What a gross, misogynistic fandom ew.

Show me, don't tell me. Conrad is vibes. Marcus Baker is a whole emotional experience.
I preface this by saying I just startedĀ The Summer I Turned PrettyĀ Season 1, and this isnāt about picking sides in the love triangle. Itās about the kind of character youāre asked to root for and why Marcus Baker leaves Conrad Fisher in the dust. Both shows are clearly reaching for the same archetype, but only one sticks the landing.
Hereās the thing: Marcus, Ginny & GeorgiaāsĀ quiet, sarcastic, secretly-poetic mess of a boy, actually shows me why I should care. His flaws arenāt just window dressing, youĀ feelĀ them. His softness isnāt a one-off, itās part of his wiring. You feel the connection right away, before you even know all the backstory, and it only deepens as you go. You see why Ginny keeps coming back, even when itās messy. And a huge part of that is Felix Mallardās performance, the way he can pack an entire emotional history into a single look makes Marcus feel lived-in from the start.
And listen, IĀ loveĀ a broody, emotionally-scarred teenage chaos boy, Jess Mariano and Logan Echolls sit proudly at the top of that list, but those charactersĀ showĀ you the soul under the damage. They give you the moments that make you lean in.
Conrad? His whole character screams, āHeās a bad boy with a soul,ā but they donātĀ showĀ me the soul. Iām told to swoon over the longing glances, the porch brooding, the squint at the ocean while a moody indie track plays. The script builds him like a Tumblr gifset without the scenes to back it up. I never feel the connection with him, itās presented like itās already there, without the work to make me believe it.
Conrad is the fantasy: curated mood lighting, plot armor, vibes over substance. Marcus is the reality: messy, flawed, emotionally present, worth loving. And a few episodes intoĀ The Summer I Turned Pretty, Iām already realizing Iād pick beingĀ shownĀ over beingĀ told, depth over a squint, every single time.
Would love to hear from others whoāve watched the series. I get why people like Jeremiah, but Iām already not feeling Conrad at all.

Posting this because it's interesting, obviously I knew exactly what to present on the mixing board because this is my third or fourth time playing AA4, but I never actually caught on to what the missed cue sounds like. This is with Daryanās part and the bass part playing; the parts are meant to be basically identical, which makes Daryanās missed cue incredibly obvious if you only have those two parts playing.
Playing just those two parts makes it sound incredibly jumbled, making it easier to identify where Daryan messed up. Additionally until today I didn't notice just how badly Daryan messed up. That's not really a small fuck up.
we can finally reveal the truth
I need 20 million fics about Robby Keene and people realising how fucked up his life has been because I swear to christ Iāve never seen a character so consistently shit on
