ok so i finally saw the 1975 live last night and although it was cold, the energy and the stage presence and everyone being generally hype made it not feel as cold, but for me one of the best parts of the night was when they ended with girls and then of course, they were gonna do an encore, but when they came out it was only matty and a guitar and everyones like ??/ but then he starts talking and saying how “this is something i’ve never done before. we have never rehearsed this, never soundcheck; this is just. but we were all talking and since this night is pretty special to us, we decided I should do this. Its the last track on the new album, She Lays Down. Its about my mum.” and we all went nuts and one of my friends was like are you going to record it and i was like no because i know i’ll ruin the recording with my crying and he had to start the song over twice because of him crying and then he started crying two other times during the song. I love them so much and it was obviously so ahrd for him but he did it and I’ve never been more proud.
