I have a really strong feeling that the star sticker that Buzz has on him is going to be important in his conflict with Woody. Jessie having the real one and Buzz seemingly trying to copy her is already very telling on its own about the possible inferiority he could be feeling but his "You don't think I can do it" line from the trailer kinda seals it for me.

He believes Woody didn't think he'd be capable enough to look over rhe toys and that's why he gave it to Jessie instead of him? It sounds a lot like they're building on Buzz's ts4 portrayal where he acts dumb in a way that's out of character for him and now they're giving him an arc where he can prove that he's not dumb and capable and I'm not sure how to feel about that. In a way it's better than jusr continuing to portray him as an idiot but I really hope his entire arc isn't about what's essentially a writing problem because in ts1 Woody already realised how smart Buzz can be and Woody was never portrayed as believing Buzz as incapable. It only makes sense if ts4 is the only context you consider

Woody and Buzz appear to be arguing in the toy story 5 trailer and I think this could make a really fantastic character arc for them because I've always thought that deep down Buzz would resent Woody for leaving because I mean. Woody was the one who beat it into him that a toy's purpose is to make a kid happy and also told Buzz that he'd always be by his side, and Woody has kind of turned against both of those sentiments and I really want to see that addressed. Let them fight and then realise that they need each other that's my only wish really.
