Solange Knowles’ Saint Heron Library digitizes rare and out-of-print works by Black and brown artists, preserving them for future generation
"The Saint Heron Library is home to our archival collection of primarily rare, out of print, and 1st edition titles by Black & brown authors, poets, & artists," she captioned on Instagram.
Throughout time, when certain aspects of physical media aren't accessible, a digital archive library is crucial in a society driven by fast-paced media consumption, where the depth and nuance of marginalized voices can easily be overlooked or forgotten.
...
In our digital age, where much of our interaction with media is limited to clicks and reposts, Knowles’ digital archive provides a safe space for scholarly and artistic work that might otherwise be lost. Saint Heron’s library aims to foster a space where the wisdom and creativity of these “great minds” can thrive, supported by an infrastructure that champions preservation and accessibility. The library will not only serve as a place of significant works but also act as a catalyst for more conversations around artists, scholars and enthusiasts. "As the market and demand for these books, zines, and catalogues rises, we would like to play a small part in creating free access to the expansive range of critical thought and expression by these great mindsss," Knowles said.

Tigers with a frozen milk brick on a hot day
I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a warm summer day. I was walking down Rideau Street in Ottawa and stepped into Rideau Center. As I entered, I looked to my left and saw a woman—mid to late 20s, tall, wearing a floral cardigan over black leggings with heels. Her curly hair was slicked back into a low ponytail. And the moment she walked in, it was as if time paused.
She wasn’t just striking. Her presence altered the atmosphere. She moved through the mall like a force of nature, up the stairs, then down toward the lower level. Her gaze never drifted. She didn’t scan the space, didn’t seek acknowledgement. She walked forward, one foot after the other, with a still, commanding energy. People moved out of her way. No one questioned it. She didn’t demand space. She simply took it, and everything around her adjusted.
In that moment, something dormant in me shifted. I had been carrying the weight of past trauma and diminished self-worth. Seeing someone so embodied in her self-concept activated a recognition of my higher self, one I had been disconnected from for too long. It reminded me that I didn’t need to walk through life small, fearful, or seeking approval. That woman was magnetic not because she tried to be, but because she didn’t try at all. Her center of gravity was internal. And everything external followed.
Like physics, metaphysics follow similar principles. Gravity pulls things toward its center. The sun doesn’t beg the planets to orbit. It simply is. Its force is self-contained, and because of that, all else aligns to it. When your internal state is rooted, when you’ve done the inner work and no longer perform to meet the expectations of others, the same law applies. People, opportunities, and alignment gravitate toward you.
But this is only possible through authenticity, by choosing to live as the version of yourself that reflects your truth rather than a curated version built to please. When your sense of self is not reliant on external validation, you no longer live in performance. You live in alignment. And from that alignment, your life begins to flow. You stop pushing. You stop chasing. Things begin to move toward you, effortlessly.
The impact of embodying your highest self isn’t just personal. It’s generative. It affects others, sometimes profoundly. I know because that woman affected me. I saw her for no more than a couple of minutes, yet she altered the trajectory of my life. She became a mirror of possibility. So never downplay who you are becoming. Even your presence, in passing, can awaken something in someone else.
And all it takes is choosing, consistently, to embody who you really are.
One thing I'm fed TF up with is these think pieces about Annie & this scene specifically, like she didn't matter to Smoke. Just be real, It's all because she was a dark skin, full figured figured woman & she could never be "desirable" to someone as attractive as Smoke aka MBJ.
So let me say this & dead this shit right here...
1. Annie was his WIFE, not a side piece, gf or friend with benefits...HIS WIFE.
2. Smoke came to Annie (in this scene), she didn't chase him down unlike another female character in this film *stares at audience reading this while sipping tea*
3. In this scene, she mentioned that she was NEVER leaving the Delta. In my mind, that made me believe that before Smoke left for 7 years, he asked her to come with him, BUT she more than likely didn't leave because she didn't wanna be caught up in his 'activities'. "Your money comes with blood" - She knew!! Also, no man in his right mind would willingly leave his wife behind if he loves her.
4. Everyone keeps talking about how Smoke asked Annie to cook for him & the only reason he said he loved her is because she said his name. Baby it's deeper than that, Smoke used her cooking for the party as an open door to come back in to her life OFFICIALLY after leaving her all those years. Annie said his real name to let him know "Hey, it's me you're talking to, I know the real you. You can be real/vulnerable with me" which HE did. He told her he loved and missed her.
5. The last thing I'll talk about is them making love. "She initiated it, he wouldn't have done it if she didn't." DUH, it's called permission, consent...you can't be gone for YEARS & just expect someone to accept you then be like let me get some cooch. He let her take the lead to confirm that they were all good. But y'all saw how he took control soon after & put her through the shack furniture. He LOVED him some ANNIE, cut the shit!!
That's it, that's all.
Beyond grateful to be able to experience the supernatural powerhouse that is Wunmi Mosaku, she only gets better with time! Blessed birthday wishes Goddess 🥰🫶🏾🥳
Send me to Mars with party supplies before next august 5th
No guys you don’t understand.
The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
That’s not sad, that’s awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
This is humanity
Happy Birthday, Curiousity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity.
Happy birthday, Curiosity!
Happy birthday to ya, happy birthday to ya…Happy Birthday!!!
Happy born day Curiosity!
Happy Birthday Curiosity!!!!!
there are a lot of undiagnosed adults out there but i do think it's a shame that we've reached a point where having hobbies and interests past the age of 20 is seen as a touch of the tism. i know many older adults who suppress all their childish desires and throw out all their old toys and for what. are you scared of being 'weird' ? who give a shit.
I love explicit fanfic. I love smutty shipping. I love horny one shots. I love filthy erotic nasty longfics.
I love character or plot driven fic that uses sex as a tool for characterization, conflict and catharsis, and I love fic that exists solely to be hot and sexy.

Y'all sleeping on this picture. Sinners BTS Stack (Michael B. Jordan). as appears on londonbrushco IG.
It's important to remember that Luigi Mangione is being framed for murder. The "evidence" they have on him is absolute clown shoes absurd.
They're trying to win this by swaying public opinion. That's why they're doing movie deals about it and staging ridiculous photo ops.
They're gonna try to give this kid the death penalty to cover up for their own gross incompetence and in the hopes that they scare the working class out of trying to fight back.
Please don't help them do this by using his name as a synonym for political assassinations. Please do not perpetuate the idea that he's guilty.
not only should we all be striving for just that, but we also should always spell and pronounce "that is it" as "dassit"
