Summary: Frodo offers you a chance to live the scene from a book you're currently reading.
Prompt: E19. Dancing in the moonlight
MOONLIGHT DANCE
The party had long since ended, the plates empty, jugs depleted, musical instruments taken inside. You weren’t even sure why you were still sitting there. Probably because of the moon — it was so mighty and bright tonight, looking like it too had come closer just to witness some hobbits party.
But then… you saw movement from behind the stage, and craned your neck to see Frodo stepping out.
“Oh, you’re here too,” Frodo said, a smile immediately appearing on his face.
You nodded. “I saw how beautiful the moon is tonight and… just wanted to stay and look at it.”
“Me too,” he replied, making his way to you. “It brings me comfort whenever I feel alone.”
You were quiet for a moment, before you blurted out, “I’m reading a book, and the main couple just danced in the moonlight. I guess… I just came here to imagine that happening to me.”
He turned to look at you, and after a moment you shyly looked at him. “Uh… sorry. That was cheesy.”
“I think we’re reading the same book.”
“The Banished Heart?”
“Yes.”
You blinked.
He shifted. “And… I wouldn’t mind, recreating that scene with you.”
“Really?” you gasped.
He just nodded, rubbing his neck, before offering you his hand.
“I don’t actually know if I can dance,” you admitted, and Frodo laughed.
“Neither do I.”
You took his hand, and he led you away from the tables, the moonlight casting over you fully. He awkwardly placed a hand on your side, and you placed yours on his shoulder. You stood there for a moment, both looking at your feet, that were now almost touching each other.
"Should we — " you started.
"I'm not sure — " he said at the same moment.
You stared at each other, before bursting into laughter, the tension loosening.
And then, you just began to sway. It wasn’t really dancing, there was no rhythm to it or any planned pattern, but it was still something you had secretly dreamed about whenever you looked at Frodo. Reading the book, you always dreamed of having an adventure like the main pairing had, and eventually you found yourself inserting yourself and Frodo as the main characters.
It was really silly, but on this moment, it almost felt like the book became true.
“I’m always jealous of Rogue. Because it’s described Firebreather looks at him like I wish someone would look at me,” Frodo suddenly muttered, and you felt your cheeks flaming.
“Maybe someone already does,” you whispered, and he blinked, before smiling, his own cheeks getting a dust of pink now.
“I hope so.”
You continued swaying in the moonlight, both knowing what the other tried to say, without either saying it out loud — and maybe the future would bring you an adventure similar to the one you’d been dreaming about.

Wolfoxjade17 cuz I wanted to make a really meaningful username. I love wolves and foxes, as of all members of the dog family. So put those two in a blender. Jade cause I wanted to add something to Wolfox and at that time I wanted to symbolise my favorte color, ranging from dark blue to pale green. So I first tried with BerylWolfox, but Jade comes in a pretty pale green, and I sounds better. 17 as there was another Redditor called "WolfoxJade" so I chose a random number. (FYI: 17 isn't my fav number, just the first one I thought of).

Ruby– I liked the signature the character from Oshi No Ko has
Rose- This one has two meanings. The blue rose is something mysterious and unatainable, the pink rose is a deep gratitude and joy for what you do have. It really just describes my hopes for my creative endevours. Likley unatainable, but I'm still grateful and happy for whatever does come true.
