Gorvorra'h The Lovecraftian shark God
The following information has been compiled over centuries by the Miskatonic University in Arkham, Massachusetts. How much of it ultimately reflects the truth remains a mystery—at least for those fortunate enough never to encounter this being.
The Star Ripper
The creature regarded as the origin of the race known as the Vorrah’xi, Vr'xi, Vorrax, Samebito, or Kojin bears a name written in ancient symbols, likely Sumerian.
The translation would be: ĞŒŘ~VÔŔ~ŘÆ'H
ĞŒŘ~VÔŔ~ŘÆ'H is not a name in the usual sense. It is a pattern of sound not meant for the living. Everything about it contradicts what a human body is capable of—and that is precisely the problem.
The “Gor” already begins fatally wrong. To truly form it, your ribcage would have to subtly resist the breathing reflex. The “o” demands to be held longer than oxygen allows—a stretched, vibrating drone that throws the pulse out of rhythm. Anyone who gets it right doesn’t just feel the sound in their throat, but in their inner ear, as if their sense of balance briefly shuts down. Meanwhile, the “r” breaks into irregular ضربs—not like a rolled r, but like something tapping against the inside of your larynx… from within.
“Vor” then forces you to speak against your own anatomy. The “v” is not formed by the lips, but by a moist pressure that feels like a sudden vacuum. Some Occultists report—if they are able to report at all—that their vision goes black at that moment, as if the body briefly forgot how to breathe. The “o” unnaturally shifts into a higher frequency while the previous “Gor” still resonates. Both tones exist at once—something a single human speaker cannot produce without the voice “tearing.” And that tearing is essential. Thats why a Human needs otherworldly help to pronounce it.
Then comes “Ra’h.”
The apostrophe is the point where the body also fails. To produce it correctly, one would have to inhale and exhale at the same time—not in quick succession, but truly simultaneously. For a fraction of a second, the breathing rhythm collapses. The brain registers a contradiction: air flows in and out, pressure forms where it should not. Some describe a stabbing sensation behind the eyes.
The “ra” itself is sharp enough to strain the vocal cords, but that is not the dangerous part.
It is the final ’h.
This ’h is not an exhalation—it is a withdrawal. The sound only forms when the body releases the last remaining air without taking in new. When pronounced perfectly, it is silent and yet audible, a dry, cold breath that feels as though it is not being released outward, but pulled downward.
And that is where it ends.
Thats where the Person die. Of you Pronounce it incorrectly, the Entity will torment you in an cruel and perversed way.
Thus, the name Gorvorra'h adopted. But some People dare to call him Gorvorra'h, Gvura, Gor or Gorrva and try to speak it correctly, what would result in the mentioned pain. Most people goe safe, and call him jut Ra'h.
Created by an entity known as Azathoth for the purpose of annihilating his own kind, Azathoth modeled the creation of Gorvorrah after Ghizguth, who was the most ruthless of his lineage. Gorvorrah was specifically designed to kill Ghizguth—which he likely succeeded in doing. Furthermore, he is said to have exterminated nearly all others, including Nodens and Bast. The last known survivors of the lineage of the Elder Entities are Yog-Sothoth, Azathoth, and G’tsogh.
Manifestations of Gorvorra'h
Prime Form:
Torpedo-shaped, with a pointed snout, no eyes, and wing-like protrusions along the sides of the body, which became fins in the ocean. Its tail ends in a fan shape. Its snout is armed with countless rows of teeth, and tentacles grow from its mouth. Closely resembles a great white shark. In this form, it is often depicted as being composed of countless corpses. It has also frequently been perceived or described as “dancing” to a morbid flute-like sound. Annihilation Form.
Great White Shark (Ethereal):
Resembles a great white shark, but composed of alien colors, glowing and fluorescent. It tears holes into the cosmos.
Great White Shark (Earthly):
Covered in scars, which glow in unnatural colors. Its body is dark gray, transitioning into a metallic sheen, with a white underside. Its gills emit black sludge, though whether this is their only function is unknown. Tentacles also grow from its mouth. Its eyes are black and possess their own gravitational pull. In its “Requin form,” it consists of flesh with countless open eyes across its body. This is also considered an annihilation form.
Whale Shark:
Its body is black like the void, with stars glowing across its skin. It was created to swallow planets.
Megamouth Shark:
A massive accumulation of flesh with an enormous mouth. Its purpose is unknown, though there are theories.
Goblin Shark:
Another form optimized to destroy specific groups of Elder beings.

Amorphous Mass:
Multiple sources unanimously report sightings of a seemingly infinitely large amorphous mass from which thousands of shark heads protrude. Its purpose is unknown.
Abilities
Mind Control
It appears that the entity can communicate through mind control. This becomes possible when its blood is nearby the Victim. Most commonly, this is achieved through a cursed wood carving bearing an image from the Entity drawn in its blood.
Cosmic Physical Strength
According to ancient accounts, Gorvorra'h is responsible for the destruction of the continent of Lemuria, which he must have annihilated through sheer physical force. The killing of elder entities remains beyond the understanding of occult scholars; however, it is assumed that, if able, Gorvorra'h could destroy the Earth with ease.
Refraction Wave
Among the Great Old Ones, only three are capable of creating a Refraction Wave: Chaugnar Faugn, the King in Yellow, and Gorvorra'h. This is due to the fact that only these three are capable of absorbing souls.
A Refraction Wave is the annihilation of a soul on the material plane — the most efficient form of soul destruction. When a soul dies on the physical plane, it releases heat reaching several thousand degrees. If that soul had previously been transferred into a human, the host burns to ashes. However, if the host is a Witness (a human cursed with immortality), they do not die; instead, the soul burns them while they remain fully conscious.
When many souls are destroyed simultaneously, the effect resembles multiple nuclear explosions. These conclusions are based on findings from burned stone discovered on the continent of Lemuria. According to these findings, the wave must have generated heat equivalent to one hundred nuclear bombs.
Gorvorra'h is the only Great Old One known to have ever used a Refraction Wave. This act was considered so abhorrent that none other than Yog-Sothoth himself turned Gorvorra'h to stone after the destruction of Lemuria.
For a long time, it was believed that Azathoth had petrified him, but this is impossible, as Azathoth’s chained body lies dormant in the void. Gorvorra'h was aware that the use of the Wave was forbidden, as it disrupts the balance of power. He used it in the hope of awakening Azathoth.
Instead, he was cursed by Yog-Sothoth to remain petrified under the Seabed of the Marianna Trench until his debt is repaid or Azathoth awakens. This also serves as his motivation to drive humanity into madness, in hopes of awakening Azathoth.
Creation of Avatars
Gorvorra'h has created at least three avatars on Earth, none of which were of human origin. To this day, he attempts to create a human avatar, as Azathoth did with Nyarlathotep. However, his efforts are doomed to fail. No human is capable of enduring his malevolence for more than a few minutes before their body explodes, leaving behind nothing but black sludge. More on the avatars later.
Control of Time
Gorvorra'h .can control time. In his current form (petrified), he can only do so by traveling to the moon via Gra've'Rah or by placing a specific curse upon an individual.
Cursing
Gorvorra'h can curse humans with a single glance, whether in person or through a vision. There are various types of curses, including the Witness, the Acolyte, the Priest, Age manipulation, and the Parasite Curse. More on these later.
Mist
Like all the Old Ones, Gorvorra'h is accompanied by mist. During periods of activity, the surrounding area becomes enveloped in it. This mist marks the boundary between the realm of the Old Ones and our own. Within it, hallucinations may occur, such as attacks by alien beings like dimensional shifters, Mi-Go, and Deep Ones.
Requin Ritual
The Requin Ritual is a form of release from Gorvorra'hs petrification. Only Gorvorra'h himself and the Vorrah’xi know how to initiate it. What is known is that seven acolytes are required to begin the ritual.
Avatars
Rah’kesh
Rah’kesh was originally a great white shark that Gorvorra'h transformed into an avatar. Despite possessing certain human-like traits—such as walking on two legs and breathing on land—he remained fundamentally a beast, incapable of speech and lacking higher intelligence.
In “The Origin” by Peerbody or Henfield, Ra’kesh is described as an intelligent and empathetic being; however, this has been contradicted by all other known sources.
Ra’kesh’s purpose was to impregnate Lyssandra, consort of Amon/Simurgh, thereby creating the race of the Vorrah’xi. He was later imprisoned within the body of Gorvorra'h.
Thousands of years later, Nyarlathotep extracted Ra’kesh’s soul, leaving the body behind. What became of that body remains unknown, as it was potentially immortal. The soul, however, was reborn into a human god named Shek’ar (Ra’kesh spelled backward). This god later intervened alongside a group of outcast Vorrah’xi, acting as an extermination force against the main Vorrah’xi population.
El Tiburón / El Demonio Negro
It is widely believed that Gorvorra'hk created a Megalodon as an avatar and uses it to destroy ships. Its appearance resembles that of a typical Megalodon or great white shark, but entirely black in color. It leaves behind a trail of boiling, black sludge.
Witnesses have also reported tentacles emerging from its mouth, as well as scars that burn in unnatural colors in areas where the black residue is absent.
To this day, it is debated whether this entity is an avatar of Gorvorra'h or merely a smaller manifestation of his great white shark form. The creature has demonstrated the ability to adapt to its circumstances.
During an incident in 1996, a naval fleet was destroyed following an encounter with it. Survivors reported that El Demonio Negro was able to form a stone-like armor around its body.
Without question, this is the most physically powerful form currently capable of manifesting on Earth. It was problably last reportedly seen by Sir Drew Fitch in the late 1960s, who died shortly after the encounter.
Unknown Name
This entity appears humanoid in form but is unusually tall (over 7.6 Feet), with snow-white skin, white hair, and an otherworldly presence.
No one who has come into close proximity to it has been able to endure its presence for long without either fleeing or losing their sanity. Very little is known about this being.
What is most significant is that it was formed directly from the flesh of Gorvorra'h making it a deliberately created avatar. However, this very origin renders it unsuitable for intervention, as it radiates an overwhelming amount of cosmic power in addition to pure malevolence.
Furthermore, it possesses the ability to shape reality, control time, and teleport.
Unclear whether Ability or Avatars
Creatures mentioned in Origins. In Origins, it is stated that Gorvorra'h can infect animals and humans using its blood (see: Parasite Curse). Whether this functions as a curse, an avatar form, or simply a disease remains uncertain.
Rebirth as shark demons:
There is knowledge of two humans who died and were reborn in their own bodies as shark demons after drinking or inhaling the Black Blood that remained after the death of an Avatar. These individuals were Goodwyn and Alexandre Morrison. Whether this is a curse, punishment, or something else is unknown.
From the flesh of Gorvorra'h, sharks can emerge. Just as the unknown Avatar was created, numerous traditions claim that the sharks of our world were created in exactly this way. During the battle against Ghizguth’s son Tsathoggua, Gorvorra'h was severely wounded. Whether this was intentional is unclear, although it should be noted that Ghizguth created Tsathoggua with the goal of surpassing himself. From Gorvorra'hs blood, countless sharks formed, which eventually consumed most of Tsathoggua. The remains were taken to the Moon.
Kamohoali:
Nyarlathotep appears to have lost his favor toward humanity. Therefore, he stole a spark from the perverse core of Gorvorra'h and implanted it into the fetus of a god. In addition, he stabbed the mother’s abdomen with a dagger dipped in Gorvorra'h’s Black Blood, directly striking the fetus. Instead of dying, the child’s cosmic power became so great that the wound immediately healed. At birth, the child was white, had gills on its neck, shark teeth, and an appendage on its back resembling a shark fin. The child became an exceptionally gifted warrior until, either guided by Gorvorra'h or Nyarlathotep, it began slaughtering the gods of humanity. Whether it was ultimately an Avatar or something else remains unknown. It sank into what is now Antarctica.
Chaos Fist:
Gra've-Ra'h is another entity whose nature and purpose remain purely speculative. Named the “Fist of Gorvorra'h,” it is said to carry out Gorvorra'h's will on Earth. Aside from its involvement in the flesh farm of the Moon, nothing is known about it, including whether it ever left The Moon.
Palace and location:
The Palace is in the middle of the City Ul'garath of the Vorrah’xi, built by the so-called Dark-Blooded (see entry: Vorrah’xi) or Ghorra. There, horrific and indescribably perverse rituals were performed on humans. Through a Portal within a Place called Hells Laguna, the Vorrah’xi regularly traveled to The Moon as part of a ritual. For this to be possible, the dome of the Palace had to remain intact. It was destroyed in the 1960s during an operation led by Shek'ar.
Marianna Trench:
The resting place of the petrified Gorvorra'h. He lies at his full size of several thousand kilometers under the ocean floor. Only his mouth and the top of his head were visible, although this was never witnessed by anyone. Landslides in the 1870s turned the Mariana Trench into a “parking lot.” Since then, sightings of unnatural phenomena have become extremely rare.
When the moon bleeds from four wounds, Gorvorra'h awakens. Tentacles from within its body drill through the ground and drag ships and aircraft into the depths. When the moon displays this sign, diving in the area becomes impossible. Humans begin to lose their sanity even at the surface. The cosmic force there is so strong that electronics fail. This phenomenon is also accompanied by a dense, heavy fog.

Curses:
Witness Curse
Gorvorra'h or Azula-R’dul-Ra'h can cast a curse that makes humans immortal. At the same time, they die in the moment they become a Witness. Their body also begins to decay from that point onward. Once bodily damage or decay progresses too far, a regenerative phase begins, restoring the body to the state it was in when the curse took effect.
Witnesses feel no hunger, yet cannot eat, as everything tastes rotten. Alcohol and drugs are ineffective, with the exception of Gorvorra'h’s blood, which causes strong hallucinations in Witnesses. Both humans and Vorrah’xi can become Witnesses. This applies to all further stages as well, with the exception of parasites.
Acolyte
A Witness with immense psychic capacity may be considered for Acolyte status. Priests are most often elevated to Acolytes, as this represents the prior stage. There are no physical differences between Witnesses and Acolytes. Acolytes are honored with recounting the deeds of Gorvorra'h after the Requin Ritual. However, the teachings of Heleaos reveal this to be a lie. In truth, Acolytes die after the ritual. Acolytes are venerated by the Vorrah’xi.
Priest
The stage preceding Acolytes. Witnesses are assigned special duties and are partially revered.
Parasites
If the blood of Gorvorra'h or that of one of his Avatars enters the bloodstream of an individual, plant, or fungus, they become infected. Regardless of the form of life, it mutates into a grotesque state. Teeth grow everywhere, eyes open across the body, and gray or white patches form. Some animals become abominable shark-like hybrid creatures.
Traditions:
Gorvorra'h destroyed all of the Outer Gods’ lineage except Azathoth, G'tsogh, and Yog-Sothoth.
Gorvorra'h destroyed the continent of Lemuria. Its population continues to suffer eternal torment within his being to this day.
Gorvorra'hs goal is the Requin Ritual, also called the Requiem Ritual. However, this is incorrect, though deliberately used, as “Requiem” means funeral mass. The Requin Ritual is considered the eternal funeral mass of humanity.
Gorvorra'h fought a Great Old One named Tsathoggua, whom he likely only narrowly survived.
Gorvorra'h fought the Great Old One Cthulhu. Weakened by the battle, Cthulhu was later bound by the Shoggoths.
Gorvorra'h fears the awakening of “V”. What “V” is remains unknown. It was long assumed to be connected to Baoht Z’uqqa-Mogg, a known enemy of Gorvorra'h. However, it is now believed that “V” is something else—either sleeping or wandering in the shadows.
Gorvorra'h seeks to replace humanity with the help of the Vorrah’xi. More information can be found in the “Vorrah’xi ” section.
Gorvorra'h is said to have destroyed over a thousand planets belonging to the Elder and Outer Gods, most of whom perished in the process.
Allies:
Basatan – Great Old One and ruler of ice and crustaceans. It is said that after the destruction of Lemuria, he created shark-crab hybrids for the Vorrah’xi.
Lyssandra – Mother of Azula-R'dul-Ra'h and former priestess of the demon Amon/Simurgh. Her soul wanders the ocean surface at the Marianna Trench. As the Siren Queen she lures Sea Men into the Fog, in wich the Ghorra can attack the clueless Humans.

All Great Old Ones despise Gorvorra'h due to his nature and essence. Notable feuds include:

Chaugnar Faugn – Gorvorra'h killed his father
Kujiragami (Japanese name for an unknown entity) – reason unknown
Amon/Simurgh – Demon from the Ars Goetia. Amon protected the people of Lemuria and warned them via ravens. He had a beloved named Lyssandra. Gorvorra'h created an Avatar and fathered a child with Lyssandra: Azula-R'dul-Ra'h, Queen of the Vorrah’xi.

All information about Gorvorra'h originates from occult traditions, ancient grimoires, and legendary texts clearly associated with occultism—either through independent witness accounts or corroborating visions.
Numerous works attest to Gorvorra'h’s existence, including: Al Azif, the Pnakotic Manuscripts, the Book of Eibon, Unspeakable Cults, and the Fabulas ab Alta. The latter primarily concerns the Vorrah’xi, but like Unspeakable Cults and Al Azif, it is unreadable to humans and stored in the Miskatonic University restricted vault.
Symbol
A symbol is associated with Gorvorra'h: a triangle crossed by a downward-curving arc. It is interpreted as a shark, associated with the Illuminati, seen as an eye, or even as the Bermuda Triangle. Ultimately, it is known that this symbol is embossed on the cover of the Fabulas ab Alta. A necklace bearing this symbol is also said to exist and is of great importance to the Vorrah’xi.
The Moon
The moon has a strange connection to Gorvorra'h and the Vorrah’xi. Depending on its intensity, it opens one to five wounds (five being the strongest state). No one knows its true meaning. One wound appears when Azula transforms into a hybrid, three when El Demonio Negro awakens, and five when Gorvorra'h attacks—this has only happened once, during the destruction of Lemuria.
The Gleam
Any mortal who gazes upon Gorvorra'h falls into madness. This is not caused solely by his cosmic power or his eyes, which resemble hollow cavities in his skull, but by a “Gleam” that reveals his deeds. Mortals do not perceive these deeds directly; instead, they flicker subconsciously for fractions of a second, destroying mind and soul. The Gleam is considered a curse of Azathoth—a warning to all who behold Gorvorra'h.
Ultimate Goal
Gorvorra'h’s ultimate goal has always been the awakening and destruction of Azathoth. However, this goal is now considered uncertain.
Now the Text:
The following text is an excerpt from a parchment scroll. It is said to be the only remaining relic from the time of the Nacaal. Whether and how it relates to the fall of Lemuria is unknown. Since origin accounts differ across all sources (except Fabulas ab Alta, whose version matches Al Azif), the exact events remain unclear.
However, it is believed that Gorvorra'h sought to subjugate the people of Lemuria, and upon their refusal, they suffered unimaginable torment.
