hello friends! i’m a type 1 diabetic and i choose to live to the fullest and stay fearless despite constantly having to fuel myself with sugar to go on hiking adventures as pictured above to avoid hypos and going unconscious!!! living with T1D means a lot of the time when i’m out with friends & family, i’m acting fine and totally okay when really i know i’m going into hypoglycaemia and i have to consume *more* sugar but i don’t want to because “i just exercised and feel amazing” or “i’m not hungry and feel sick having sugar” but i have to because it’s life or death for me! so many people have no idea at all how life threatening diabetes is and it is incredibly hard to brush some moments off as ‘fine’ in front of friends when you’re out on an adventure when you are in fact not fine at all inside and feel shaky with blurred vision and need a pile of sugar/junk food immediately to scoff down so that your body still functions! butttttt i ALWAYS choose life and happiness and good health over everything and i have conquered some really big fears and achieved some amazing things i thought i never ever could with T1D so far in life and i’m really proud of myself ✨ here’s to being apart of the dead pancreas gang for life 🕺💛

I also live with anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, and more. 🌷🥺⛅️🍓💫💐🌿💌🪐 I wanted to use this selfie night to thank you all. I’m graduating high school soon, and I’ve endured the hardest, loneliest, and most terrifying last four years, but you guys and Taylor have been with me through it all and have made me feel seen. You’ve inspired me to be honest about my disability, you’ve given me beautiful friendship, and you all see me for me, which is rare in real life. I can’t thank all of you enough for your support, kindness, acceptance, and for appreciating my really weak sense of humor (hehe). Right now, the world is really scary, and I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but right now I have you guys, I have Taylor, and you’ll always have me (sorry! lol) and that’s more than enough. Me? Still really sick. Still in quarantine. I've been social distancing/isolating for over 5 YEARS now. I'm used to it... not that that's a good thing, however, I'm here and very understanding of what you all are going through as the world marches forward in this crazy coronavirus-laden year.
I'm... not doing very well at the moment (gotta put that on a 22-style tee, heh) but I'm surviving. I want to tell you all my story soon, in the meantime I'm still hoping you can help me get the message to Taylor to read my DM's to her. It would help me SO much. these selfies are from a while ago, but it’s the last time i felt really good about myself. i’d just gotten a new cosplay wig of a character who helped me accept so many parts of myself like my ptsd and my anxiety, which have been even harder to manage in these times.
the anxiety from the state of the world gets worse each time i check the news, my ptsd is going crazy being stuck with memories i don’t want, my depression has been worse than ever because i can no longer do any of the things i did to cope with it.
but we’ll survive and grow. i hope everyone’s staying safe and i’m sending you all so many positive vibes.

I am about to finish my senior year of high school (online which is sad) and am reflecting on my journey over these past four years.
Being diagnosed with ADD so late into my high school experience really just showed me how much I can achieve by pushing through different obstacles. I am so proud to say that even with the challenges it brings that I will be attending a well respected business school for undergrad💜
This week I decided to keep my high schools tradition of painting my uniform skirt with my college logo! 🎓
it’s ironic trying to work through your own mental health and help others with theirs. this pandemic has definitely made my anxiety worse but i’m doing what i can, just like everyone else.

This is one of my favorite pictures taken of me because it shows that no matter what disabilities you’ve seen or not seen you don’t really know what someone is going threw. a few years back i’ve had spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis i have many disabilities but my main one is an invisible one i battle everyday it is insecurities and my scar is one of them but each summer that comes up i try and be confident about it i start to wear dresses more that show it i start to wear bathing suits that show it i still get the stares when i am out with friends but it doesn’t matter, what matters is that i no longer have to worry about my curve getting worst because it got healed and that i have a kick ass scar that shows a battle i’ve been threw and i am still going threw.

Happy Swift diasabled selfie night! May is Mental Health Awareness month. As someone who is diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and an eating disorder, is a child on child sexual abuse survivor, a self harm survivor, and has experienced suicidal ideation, mental health awareness means a lot to me and I wish it wasn’t as stigmatized as it is. Tumblr is the only platform that I can openly discuss mental health on, so thank you @swiftiesofcolor for being so inclusive of mental illnesses as disabilities and for giving Swifties a safe space to open up about their mental health. I am also diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, dystonia, and asthma!
