You know as an American born in the late 90s I’ve watched my country blow up foreigners on tv supposedly in the interest of national security since I was a toddler but quite frankly we live on a natural fortress of a continent with friendly nations to our north and south and have been attacked on our own soil literally two times in the past hundred years and we have military bases on every inhabited continent on earth. It’s never made sense to do these things for “national security”. It never will make sense unless you value the shareholders of weapons companies over the lives of children. And apparently a concerning amount of people do.

Every once in a while I've seen the sentiment like "I can't believe I'm still blocked by [person] for [thing that happened forever ago]" and I dunno, I kind of operate under the assumption that most people don't revisit their blocklists. Least of all to pass through it and judge which accounts are now unblock-worthy.

Like if you found me slightly annoying once in 2016 I simply assume I'm blocked forever.

#i am a strong believer in the fact that i can curate what i see on social media and anyone who even slightly annoys me will be blocked #with a swiftness #my blocklist on here and tiktok are crazy long #and i have gone back to it to unblock someone one single time

#i work the front desk at a law firm so a good portion of what i do is talking to clients on the phone #and most clients here are old people #an old man called today to schedule an appointment and i did my usual routine of getting info and telling him when we have availability #he had a lot of questions and i was able to answer all of them #after about 8 minutes he tells me that i’m doing an incredible job and i’m very professional and how much he appreciates me #i was sitting at my desk smiling like an idiot bc that was the sweetest interaction ive ever had with a clinet #gotta love old people who like to crack jokes and have some friendly chitchat
