The Devonshire House Ball of 1897 was a celebratory and opulous dress ball held by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire on the 2nd of July at Devonshire House in Piccadilly for Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee. The Queen did not attend but many members of the British Royal Family came, with the Prince of Wales remarking that the fête was a success.
