I don’t think words can describe how excited I was when I found out that @tsunderica wanted to commission me to draw #Bernie for her. 💜 I went into detail about this on Twitter but I’ll also post it here. For those of you who don’t know, I have OCD and anxiety. While things have gotten much better with treatment, it is still present in my life. I know I’ve said this many times before but I’ll say it again. #fireemblemthreehouses also really helped my mental health. Playing the game allowed me to let myself have fun again. I also fell in love with the story and characters and started to feel inspired again. I’m a Blue Lions stan so I didn’t get to know Bernie’s character right away, but when I did I recruited her immediately. I don’t remember the last time I related to a character and their arc so much. It was almost spooky to come across a character who’s thought process worked like yours. But what I really loved was how the game portrayed her growth. Her anxiety will be lifelong but she no longer lets it stop her from achieving her goals. That really resonated with me. 💜 Erica really did an amazing job voicing her! (Seriously go follow her and give her your support!) So many wonderful talented people worked on this game and you really should check it out if you haven’t already! Hey! Sorry for the month of silence. I’ve been working on some things I can’t share just yet. 😉 Today though I am so excited to show you guys my work for @buecherbuechse ‘s Hunger Games box! Seriously though I was so stoked to work on this! 💕The Hunger Games meant a lot to me when I was growing up and helped me through a dark time in my life when my I had my first big onset of OCD. Reading the books and watching the movies were very therapeutic for me as it was something I was able to fully immerse myself into. Even though I am much better now than I was back then, working on this commission had a similar effect.
