One thing ktreadsthings and I are excited for in the upcoming books is seeing Gwyn and Azriel on missions! War and upheaval are certainly on the way, and while we cannot wait for Gwynriel’s romantic arc, reading about them spying and generally kicking butt is going to have us just as giddy. For this illustration, we wanted to imagine Gwyn and Azriel reuniting after being off on their own missions!

here's the bummer for people who have deluded themselves into believing lucien isn't important or is just "an obstacle" for their ship

in my lifetime i have noticed that there are people who in general find most redheads unattractive and have weird biases against them (and whether people are conscious of their bias or not, there is real history backing this - this isn't me being ridiculous)

and then there are the people who go hard for redheads and are gonna make it known how down for them they are. kind of like the running joke about how people whose favorite color is purple are "purple people"

unfortunately for all of the people thinking that if they intentionally misrepresent lucien's character and wish upon enough stars that they will magically change the ACTUAL text, sarah is clearly on the side that loves a good redhead. she gushes about lucien, makes sure to describe him as hot as hell multiple times in the books, gives him significant roles and backstory. she recently added a new redheaded character into the mix that she writes favorably. and isn't the main character from her newer series a redhead? 🧐🧐

Take away his Day Court parentage? No problem, he's hanging out with Vassa and Jurian in the Human Lands waiting to go against Koschei.

No? No Band of Exiles? Guess he can be back in Spring, where he spent most of his life as the High Lord's right hand.

Tamlin doesn't want to be allow Lucien in Spring anymore? Aight, find him in the Night Court being employed (some people could never) and his mate is the High Lady's sister.

And we're talking about Lucien Vanserra, who has been here since BOOK ONE. He was impactful enough from the jump that people were shipping him with Feyre before we even knew where this series was going. And that's since book 1, since then she has expanded his connections instead of reducing them, gave him secret parentage, political ties across Prythian AND the Human Lands, and an unresolved family story. SJM has talked about loving Lucien for YEARE, and we know he is inspired by Jamie (outlander), and was literally her second thought to have a mate after Feysand. I'd argue he has more pinned images in his likeness after Feysand. When she realized Nesta and Lucien would not work, changed course, and gave him an entirely different romantic path. She was not about to stick that man in a relationship that didn't fit just to check a box. His HEA is coming when his story is ready for it. Lucien is SJMs

For a character we're constantly told is "irrelevant," everyone sure does have to dismantle half the remaining plot of ACOTAR to get rid of him.

Yeah, I’d hate him too if my ship needed the guy who came first for Elain in SJM's mind to somehow be the red herring, but Lucien can’t sink a ship that sailed directly into HIS plotline first haha.
