honestly upon reflection i don't think azriel would have been allowed to refer to rhys's father by his actual name, he would have presumably used some deferential title (one that rhys has insisted no one use for him, especially not azriel, because He Is Not His Father). but then azriel slips and calls him that and, yeah, it does send a delightful shiver down rhys's spine before the horror sets in

this is so old but to revisit 'The Incident' since it was mentioned recently, I agree with buffy that azriel would not have called the hl by his name directly in conversation and addressed him by title ("your grace" would be the real world equivalent but who knows) even in reference (lord [name]). what's sooooooo crazy is that in the incident of azriel's slip up is yes rhysand WOULD enjoy but here's what's crazier....azriel would notice it. and despite how different they are, how rhysand is his brother and actually loves him and cares for him at the end of the day he's serving the same man. and then they just go about their day pretending nothing happened. sure.

Okay, I hope this isn't weird of me to add on, but I had a whole breakdown over this a couple weeks ago!

Like, I would totally think that they both have weird sexual responses to Az calling Rhys by his dad's title by accident, and I do think they would have very complicated daddy issue sex over it.
