I have not written post in a long while, so today I wanted to make a post about beauty matainence stuff, how I want to go about them for a routine, if I'm gonna do them at home or get them done professionally, how many times I'd do them per month, long-term goals & investment, ect.
Hope y'all enjoy the post! <3
Today's focus will be on the following things:
Hair (haircare, wigs, ect)
Skincare (facials, face masks, ect)
Lashes (lash lifts, lash serums, ect)
Semi-permanent non surgical changes (lip stain, eyebrow stain, brow lamination, makeup stain, fake tan, ect)
Oral care (teeth & tongue care, lip care, ect)
So for haircare I want to wash my hair 1 to 2 times pet week as usual, moisturizer my hair with lightweight lotions, hair milks, pure aloe vera gel, flaxseed gel as a pre-shampoo detangler & do a deep conditioning hair mask once a month. I will ideally have it braided down for 1 to 2 & a half weeks for my wigs, & then taken down for hair wash day.
Some of the specific things I want to invest in & habits i want to start in regards to haircare are:
A stone/marble scalp massagers/scraper
A monthly trip to the hair salon
Medicated ketometrozole shampoo
Moisturizing lightweight Conditioners
Flaxseed gel as a detangler
Unbrush2.0 detangler brush
WavyTalk steam hair straightener
LottaBody sleek me out blowout lotion
Softee vitamin e hair food (made my hair grow like a weed from my experience)
Scalp dermatitis medicated hair grease
Normal lightweight hair grease
A clarifying hair mask once every 2 to 3 months
Dual satin lined head bonnets, pillowcases, & head wraps
Precision application bottles, at least 3 of them.
Herbs & teas like rosemary, hibiscus, ect for a herbal hair tea (and other things)
Co-washing my scalp with moisturizing conditioner before a braid down
Oiling my scalp with warm oil before hair washing
Herbal, tea, & spice infused olive oil for scalp oiling
Hair perfume that smells like a bakery
As for the wigs, I intend to only go for glueless wigs, closure wigs, headband wigs, half wigs, ponytail/pigtail extensions,hair/puff clips, clip ins, & crochet hair from time to time. I mostly want to get type 4 natural looking blowout wigs, afro wigs, micro braided wigs, and dolly braid wigs, but also have a couple straight wigs & colored wigs as well. I also intend to get supplies to style said wigs into different hairstyles (pigtails, princess updos, heart shaped buns, ponytails, ect) I don't want to use any hair glue to glue a wig on my head for the sake of both my hair & my skin, but I will use the hair glue for pre-styling my wigs & accessorizing them!
Nails (mani-pedi, foot care, ect)
For nailcare my goals are pretty simple, keep all my nails/toenails/hands & feet pretty & healthy, & my hand nails in particular semi long, but I intend to wear Press on nails most of the time
Some specific things I wish to invest in for this include
Nail glue (for the press-ons you don't make)
Press on nails (you can even diy press-ons designs ♡)
Nail cure lamp & flashlight
I definitely still intend to go get my hands & feet done at least once a month or 2 months, but this is my plan for when I'm not doing that
For skincare I also want to keep it simple, I may elevate this routine as I get older but for now this is it
Probiotic/ Prebiotic soap bar (daily use, twice a day)
Sebum pores cleanser (likely daily use)
Sunscreen moisturizer (daily use)
Vaseline lip therapy mask (daily use)
Witch hazel toner (daily use)
Rosewater mist (daily use after toner)
African clay face mask (once every 2 to 3 weeks)
Lol that's pretty much it, I may put other face masks in between those but this is the core routine
Lashes & brows (lash lifts, lash care, approach to false Lashes, ect)
This segment is about how I want to approach lashes & brows specifically, as they are arguably the most important parts to your face card & can make or break your look, so having groomed brows & long pretty lashes is really important to me
Despite this, I do not want to do lash extensions because they can damage my real lashes, & my middle school self spent a lot of time growing them to where they currently are, so I will not be doing them a disservice.
I already have my natural lash pattern figured out, & my best suited Brow shape for my face figured out too, so now it's just a matter of how I go about doing them now, these are the at home things that I will do.
Tiktok electric shaver (to precision shape my brows, this feels like the best method for me personally, in comparison to something like plucking them)
Clear eyeliner lash glue stick
Falsies (not clusters, but I will do half lashes)
As for professionally done things, I'm gonna get lash lifts once every 4 weeks, with a proper aftercare routine, & maybe I will get my brows done too.
Semi-Permanent & Non - Surgical Changes
This segment is for all the things I add to my night routine for an elevated look, without having to do my makeup daily if I don't want to.
Blush tint ( at least 3 different shades depending on the look & level of dimension I want, can be used on the eyes too)
Brow tint (so that I don't have to fill in my brows)
Self tanner to contour face & maybe add eyeshadow
Natural dark henna for eyeliner (the henna must be much darker than my contour)
Pretty simple routine overall but can make a huge difference in general and on rougher days especially!
Bodycare (body hair removal, skin Moisturizing, illusion of no hair, ect)
This is gonna be my basic plan for seasonal body hair removal, moisturized skin & the general illusion of no hair year round
Tiktok electric razor ( at least 2) (for most of the time, full body, especially the bikini area)
Magic shaving cream (for your armpits/bikini/back & when you need to be truly hairless)
Golden blonde hair dye (for golden glow & the illusion of hairlessness for when we aren't shaving)
Witch hazel (for anywhere that sweats, & face)
Benzoyl peroxide (to stop underarm sweat from smelling)
Body milk ( for the summertime)
Kojic acid serum or soap (for lightening the bikini area, knees, elbows, & armpits)
Salicylic acid serum (for any bodily bumps, blackheads, ect)
African clay mask (but for my body this time)
Probiotic or Prebiotic soap bar
Dry body brush for exfoliation
This is the oral care practices I'm gonna do alongside staying on top of dental appointments if needed and while wearing my invisiline to fix my teeth.
Teeth whitening straps (maybe)
Tongue scraper (non negotiable)
Charcoal powder (more ideal for teeth)
Coconut oil (or really any food safe oil for oil pulling on teeth)
So that's everything I could think of for now, hope everyone has a good day! <3
