Kirsten and Kirsten
One is 4 (from the AG doll hospital), the other is about 34. They are both sweet and perfect in their own ways, and though I never was a Kirsten fan, I plan to keep both.
I might need to touch up the elderly one’s face paint but I don’t want to overdo it, and I’m surprised at the hair color difference.

Dolls who are disabled + use service aids!
I wanted to make this post for disability pride month (July) because it is something important to me. Some people may ask “what about having a disability is prideful?” And it is honestly a great question because it does seem like something that absolutely sucks (and it does a lot of the time), but personally, I am very proud of how resilient, patient and caring my disabilities have made me, I’m proud of how myself and many others have come to advocate for our needs, I’m proud of who I am and my disabilities are a part of that.

thanks again to @howevercantheafterbe for sharing their copy with me so i could read it and scan it! i was so thrilled so see that the book actually comes with a little slipcover, so that is included in the pdf scan as the first and last pages:)
also! for any of you that happen to have any of the other board books, scanning them is SOOO easy, and it would be so awesome if you could! i just use the free version of the adobe scan app on my phone and (because it's a cardboard book so you don't really have to wrangle trying to get pages flat) it probably took all of fifteen minutes to scan -> check and edit lighting on pages -> save pdf to one of my google drives -> make a shareable link. would also be happy to talk more about scanning books to share with the community with anyone interested and/or coordinate borrowing more books from people to scan!

I've been lucky enough to get some paid work that I can't share yet so I haven't posted art in a while but I had to do something for the American Girl 40th anniversary. I have been reading these books since I was six years old and these girls have a huge place in my heart. All 20 historic girls in one place!

Happy Juneteenth. Today's the real day we celebrate freedom in America. To try to honor the holiday in my own way I want to highlight some webtoons and books with black lead characters and/or black authors to show some of the stuff I've read, am reading, or plan to read soon. while in portland, i visited books with pictures, and there was a bunch of cool public art in the area to see too! sat down with a fancy coffee afterwards to read :^) if you are over 18 i especially recommend "julia, a comic" by julia o/cat09tails - so excited to bring a physical copy back home!! my favorite + the funniest!!
