i think a lot of people do still think of black women and girls in the abstract. regardless of whether or not they consider themselves anti-racist, i feel a lot of people still don't see black women as people with interests, hobbies, issues, personal political beliefs, inner lives, romantic and sexual desires and icks, etc. we are revolutionary symbols, electoral saviors, beautiful objects... nothing more. even in death
