Dean-Charles Chapman as Billy Cooper in Will (ep1/S1) The Play’s the Thing. 2017
“JK Rowling thinking she’s great for saying Dumbledore is gay but not even hinting at it in the books that’s so-”
OF COURSE SHE DIDN’T SAY DUMBLEDORE WAS GAY IN THE BOOKS
She had to change her handle to JK because people wouldn’t want to read a book written by a woman
Do you honestly think she would have been able to publish a children’s book with a gay character??
She literally would not have been able to write that he was gay because HER PUBLISHERS WOULD HAVE REFUSED TO LET HER
IT’S 2017 AND PEOPLE STILL THINK THE INCLUSION OF GAY PEOPLE IN CHILDREN’S BOOKS/MOVIES/TV SHOWS IS “POLITICAL”. THINGS LIKE THESE HAVE THE FUCK CENSORED OUT OF THEM
OF COURSE SHE DIDN’T STRAIGHT UP CALL DUMBLEDORE GAY IN THE BOOKS
SHE WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO!!!
The only way she could tell the truth about Dumbledore was, well, where nobody could censor her.
So, before you try and attack her for not writing about Dumbledore being gay in the books, just remember that people have announced they will refuse to let their children read Harry Potter because she announced OUTSIDE OF THE BOOK that he was gay. Books have to be approved by their publishers, they don’t just go straight from the writer’s laptop to the bookshelves.
The publishers would not have allowed it.
I don't think that's true. The reason Dumbledore's sexuality isn't outright declared in the books is because it's not told from his point of view. We are inside Harry's thoughts and feelings, not Dumbledore's. And since Harry was focussed on his own journey some personal insights about others in his life get missed. Especially when he's being told by others (like Rita Skeeter's book and even his own brother) just pieces of Dumbledore's life. Even Dumbledore's memory that he allows Harry to see is vague. Dumbledore's had always been very guarded with his life and family life. It serves as good reason to explain why him being gay wasn't brought up and why Harry never thought of it.
Series begins on July 10, on TNT
Sophie Turner, Dean Charles Chapman and Maisie Williams at the SAG Awards.

Even though he wasn't at the ceremony, I'm going to congratulate Dean on his Emmy win as part of the amazing cast of Game of Thrones, season 6. Well deserved.
