one hand for the spear, one for the baby
dad!lohen x mom!readerÂ
drabble
summary: you and lohen faces the consequences of the heat of the moment. you'd always assumed he'd make a terrifying father. instead, he somehow becomes a good one â though his definition of "safe childcare" remains⊠debatable.
tags: lohen is down bad, fluff, parenting
well.. this actually came from a conversation i had with my oomf on twitter. in her selfship, she and lohen have a kid together, and i'd never really pictured him as a dad before. my immediate thought was basically the exact premise i ended up writing into the fic. i even tweeted about it, so maybe you already saw it, since it just hit 1k likes, lmfao!
The quiet cries of your baby echoed through the house early that morning, making you stir restlessly beneath the blankets. Before you could fully wake, however, Lohen â who had already been awake for some time â scooped the little one into his arms.
"Shh, shh. I've got you," he murmured, gently rocking the baby. He glanced over at you, still hopelessly tangled in the blankets. A satisfied smile tugged at his lips when he saw you were still asleep. You needed the rest more than anyone else, so he didn't hesitate.
Using only one hand, Lohen settled the baby against his chest and slipped on the carrier, tightening each strap with the same meticulous care he reserved for maintaining his weapons.
The baby squirmed, and for a brief moment he worried he'd fastened the straps too tightly. But before his eyes, the little one settled comfortably against his chest, soothed by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. Lohen let out a quiet sigh of relief.
"There," he whispered. "Let's let mama sleep a little longer, hm?"
Spear slung over one shoulder, he stepped outside. His stride was almost cheerful, a little bounce finding its way into every step. He looked... proud. And he was, of course! But it still felt a little strange, becoming a father so young. His parents, of course, had been absolutely thrilled. They'd convinced themselves that finally â finally â fatherhood would make Lohen settle down and live a safer life becauseâ
⊠A rustle.
Lohen's head turned toward the sound.
Three hilichurls were hunting a wild boar nearby. His gaze slowly drifted down to the sleeping baby tucked against his chest, then back to the monsters. Normally, he would've charged them without a second thought.
This time, he paused. There were only three.
The baby slept peacefully against his chest, utterly undisturbed. It wasn't the first time he'd used the carrier. By now, he'd learned over and over again that his firstborn was perfectly safe there. Turns out his mother's advice had actually been useful.
His polearm materialized in his hand as familiar adrenaline coursed through his veins.Â
Well⊠the thing was, he'd accidentally gotten the baby used to battlefield noise. It had started when he began bringing the stroller â or the carrier â to work. He flatly refused to let you spend every single day stuck at home with the baby.
Naturally, Lohen had turned that into yet another brilliant training exercise for his cadets.
If a knight was loud enough to wake the baby...
⊠they earned a special training session with the vice-captain.
Before long, the recruits had learned to fight almost silently. The baby, meanwhile, had learned to sleep through practically anything.
Perhaps because, amid the shouting, clashing steel, and distant gunfire, Lohen was always there, humming under his breath, speaking softly, or rambling to his little one in that embarrassingly gentle voice he reserved for them alone.
Naturally, none of the knights were brave enough to laugh at his ridiculously high-pitched lullabies.
Jean looked ready to have a heart attack every time she spotted a baby on the battlefield. Lisa simply giggled, praising Lohen's impressive multitasking skills â and complimenting him on âbeing such a good fatherâ.
Varka, meanwhile, still hadn't fully processed the fact that Lohen had somehow become a parent. More than once he'd complained that it wasn't fair.
"You think this is easy for me?! Every other day you show up outside my office with your adorable baby! It was bad enough that the mother of your child was the woman I'd been pining after for years and now this?! Ugh! Just let me borrow the little one for a while! I've got paperwork to finish anyway. They can nap peacefully in my office!"Â
The last hilichurl collapsed before Lohen had even broken a sweat. Looking down, he grinned when he saw the baby hadn't stirred even once.
"Take after your mama," he said proudly.
He removed his gloves, thoroughly cleaned his hands with the wet wipes he kept in his bag, then gently stroked the baby's tiny head. Somewhere nearby there had to be a camp those hilichurls had wandered from.
If he hurried, he'd make it back before you woke up.
And if luck was really on his side...
⊠you'd still be asleep long enough for him to feed the baby, too.
Humming quietly to himself, he slipped his gloves back on and continued down the path.
You woke to an empty bed.
For one disoriented second, your hand shot toward the little nest of blankets where the baby should've been. Nothing. Your heart lurched before your mind caught up.
Lohen.
You shook your head, unable to suppress an amused smile. Throwing on one of his jackets, you headed outside in search of the father of your child.
...and found him standing atop a ridge overlooking a nearby hilichurl camp, monster residue drying on his boots, your baby sleeping soundly against his chest as though it were the safest place in all of Teyvat.
Lohen noticed you immediately.
The corners of his lips curled into a pleased smile as he finished wiping his hands clean before walking over.
"They like our morning walks," he said softly, looking down at the baby with unmistakable affection. "Didn't want to wake you."
"Lohen..." You crossed your arms, desperately trying not to smile. "I'd really appreciate it if our child didn't accompany you on your massacres."
"I took our baby for a walk," he replied with a laugh, leaning in until your foreheads were nearly touching. "The massacre was completely unrelated."
He shifted the carrier slightly so you could get a better look. Rosy cheeks, a tiny trail of drool soaking into his shirt, fast asleep, entirely unbothered by whatever had happened.
Lohen looked down at the baby with the same awestruck expression he wore every single time, as though he still couldn't quite believe this tiny little person was real.
"See?" he murmured, gently taking your wrist before pressing an apologetic kiss to the back of your hand. "They love going on adventures with dad."
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww
The fact that someone was able to track down my dads number makes me severely afraid for my privacy.
I vent here because its easy. I can get words out without wantings to break down and cry.
There's a very clear reason as to why I dont vent to people irl. IT'S TO HARD. I cannot do it. I shut down, I cry, I hyperventilate, I forget my words and choke on them because I cant get them out.
Venting here has helped me IMMESLEY. But now im scared to do so. Because the fact that someone could send my vents to my dad and end up putting me in a position of having to explain myself makes me terrified.
Its not that I dont WANT to vent to my dad. I would if I could. But my mom and dad are the same people who made me feel bad for so much as crying as a child.
My vent posts will probably stop. I dont need people using them as a way to contact people in my family.
Here's my question
How do you get someone's dad's number-
Also why?

Feeling Nostalgic
I showed this post to my boyfriend and he tried to take his shirt off like a girl andÂ
uh
yeah
Out of the 82k notes my post got this is by far the best comment holy shit thank u for being u
So i tried it both ways and uh
i mean how do you do the first one without pulling out all your hair?
this made me laugh really hardâŠ.
and it made me realize that girls and boys pull their shirt off differently. /amazed
but seriously I think girls just do the cross arm thing because of HAIR like demonstratedÂ
So one year, one URL change, and a hair cut later, I decide to try again⊠FOR SCIENCE!Â
Its not science unless you write it down soÂ
First method:
Well done, i guessâŠ
Second:
I fucked up
Girls⊠how?
I DONâT UNDERSTAND HOW WE CAN HAVE SUCH DIFFERENT WAYS OF TAKING OFF SHIRTS AND SO MUCH DIFFICULTY DOING IT THE OTHER WAY
I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!!
Itâs all in the way that girl/boys shirts are made.
Girls shirts have less armpit room then boyâs do and are generally shorter so pulling it off over your head is more practical because by lifting your arms all the way up you make enough room for the sleeves to just slip off.
Boys shirts have more room and are generally longer so it is easy to slip them off over your head.
but if you take a girls shirt off like a boys shirt you will get your arms caught because there isnât much armpit space.
and if you take a boys shirt off like a girls shit you will still have your head in it when youâve lifted your arms all the way up because of the shirtâs length.
It has nothing to do with us. It is entirely to do with how our shirts are made. I figured it out for you. YOUâRE WELCOME!
bless you
look what is back on my dash. Jesus.

How can one long to see the sunrise when they haven't yet let go of the sunset
Okay, but TLH!Reader seeing Aether in his 'new' old outfit he retrieved from the spaceship, and saying that he looks like a price getting ready for a ballroom dance, which he takes full advantage of, of course
Aether took your hand and left a kiss on your knuckle. -"May I ask you to dance, my lady?" he smiled and you felt your heart skip a beat. You nodded, charmed by his look. He held your hand in his and the other one placed on your waist, he started to hum some song, you wonder if it's a song from his original planet. The moonlight hit his golden hair, making him look so eternal. Sometimes you forget how beautiful he looks. Aether on other hand felt so happy, no one here to interrupt you both. It's just you and him at this moment and he will savour it. The way you looked at him make his heart beat faster. Are you finally seeing him as a man and not only as a traveling companion? Do you see him as him and not some 'hero' you have to follow? He hopes so.
When you two stopped dancing, Aether's face slowly came closer to you. You closed your eyes not knowing what to expect and then felt his lips on your forehead. With surprise you looked at Golden haired Traveler who gently smiled towards you. -"Thank you." He whispered.
This moment will become a precious memory for him and he hopes for you as well.
I was going to surprise you... (Freminet x reader)
"Fremi?"
"Yes?", he answered immediately, turning to look at you only to see you pouting at him.
"W-What's the matter?"

âYouâre acting awfully strange today. Whereâs all that insufferable cheeriness gone?â
Wanderer peels your sweat-soaked covers off your body, tsking as you turn your bleary gaze towards him. His words barely register; youâre too preoccupied with the pain that currently feels like itâs tearing open your stomach.
He recoils the second he sees your state: curled around a cat plushie, already-cool heating bottle pushed between your legs like that would help in the slightest, trembling and groaning with every tiny movement. A flash of fear crosses his face, which he tries to push down with a sneer.
âWhat is this? Were you really careless enough to get an infection?â
He says the word âinfectionâ like heâs disgusted by it, like itâs somehow your fault, but you donât miss the way his fingers tighten in the blanket heâs holding.
âWhat..? Itâs.. itâs cramps, Wanderer. Iâm on my period.â
He lets out a sharp exhale, dropping the blanket back onto you. âWhy didnât you tell me earlier? Itâs not on my calendar. Are you early?â
You huff. Of course he kept a calendar. Your boyfriend was weirdly conscious about your health; you werenât quite sure why.
âI didnât think it would matter..â
He scoffs, and before you can say anything he whirls on you and leaves the room. Youâre confused for a moment, but another wave of pain redirects your attention, and you pull the plushie closer in hopes of pushing it away.
He comes back in about half an hour, and youâre arisen by the smell of steamed rice. In his hand he holds a little bowl of tea-steeped rice, carefully arranged in the shape of a flower. On the top is some pickled plum, giving the whole dish an impression of a bloom. Under his arm he holds a box of chocolates- he hates them, personally, but he always makes sure to buy you some for cases like these. Finally, he also has a heating pad- thicker than the bottle you were holding, and actually likely to last.
âSit up.â He says, leaving no room for argument, and you do.
He places the bowl in your lap, all while making sure none of the tea spills out the sides as you do. Then, he hands you a spoon.
You pout. âFeed me?â
He scoffs, but he takes the spoon and scoops some of the rice up nonetheless. Itâs steaming slightly as it meets your lips, and it warms your whole body as it goes down.
You finish the food, and two bars of chocolate, and then Wanderer takes the old heating bottle and swaps it with the heating pad. He also coaxes you into taking two painkillers with a glass of water he brought.
Finally, when the pain subsides, youâre left snuggling into the plushie with a soft noise of contentment, the pain in your stomach finally somewhat manageable. Wanderer sighs slightly at the sight, before lifting up the blanket and finding his space by your side.
Your hands wrap around his waist immediately, the plushie forgotten.
âIâm surprised youâre so doting, Wanderer.â
âDonât bother mentioning it.â He flushes, pressing his face into the crook of your neck.
reqs open!!
